The University of Sheffield and SME Diurnal, as part of the TAIN project, successfully developed the first effective treatment option for the rare disease, paediatric adrenal insufficiency (AI), taking it from bench to bedside through an EU grant.

This treatment, Alkindi®, is the first innovation in paediatric adrenal insufficiency over 60 years and will greatly enhance the quality of life for the ca. 10,000 children with AI in Europe and the greater number of children across the world.
