YES! I’m 54 and I’ve gained 15lbs in the last 2years without changing my food much. I’ve been experimenting with intermittent fasting for several months, cutting back carbs, increasing protein and increasing movement but still not getting results. It’s very depressing! I get so frustrated that I give up for a few days then start again. My expressed my concerns with my doctor and she basically told me the same old thing, exercise and watch what I eat. 😢

My doctor neither checked for it or anything. I had it for years and just found out from a NURSE PRACTITIONER that I have it. She was smarter than the cardiologist doctor I had. He just blew off my concerns on always being thirsty and weight gain. I trusted him, he failed in his practice. So glad he retired. I have a nurse practitioner now.🤔 I'm not happy that my cardiologist let my symptoms drag on for years. 😡😡😡😠😠😠👿👿👿

Consider Hormone replacement therapy during menopause. You have a 5 - 10 year window from age 48 to start and prevent certain conditions such as dementia, osteoporosis, joint destruction, vaginal and bladder atrophy, hair loss etc and it will improve insulin resistance. I take hormones and eat low carb. It has really helped me.

I might have insulin resistance. I workout everyday and eat a pretty healthy diet (constantly craves sugar and carb). I’m always hungry, no matter how much I eat. I’m bloated almost constantly. I have a lot of fat around my stomach, no matter how much I workout. It frustrates me to no end how much I’ve tried to avoid this happening. I’ve lost a lot of weight, my highest was at 250, I’m now 170. I did keto for almost 2 years and it worked, but I’m scared that if I’m insulin resistant, I’ll have to go back.

Im getting tested for PCOS and Insulin Resistance next week. Both run in the family. Im hoping it will finally get down to the reason why I have so many problems with my appetite. Im just annoyed that I still ended up possibly getting it.

Yes! Enjoyed your interview with Nadir, feel topic is very relevant for peri menopause symptoms as well. PCOS is very relevant for women of child bearing years, but also for us who have started the change. High insulin effects the peri menopause symptoms in a large way. Vaginal drying issues, heavy flows, etc. A reduction in symptoms has occurred with LCHF dietary changes. One word of caution, symptoms will decrease, weight decreased, but there was a tipping point. For peri menopause, fat generates estrogen, less fat, less extra estrogen, more menopause symptoms. This includes a bit of hair loss and skin issues, things do manage to even out, and natural progression towards menopause continues. All together a plus towards healthy aging with lower risk of death from CVD. Thank you for sharing your time, enjoy adding you to my Low carb listening channels 😃

Hello Dr Nolte, I’m 71 years old and diagnosed pre diabetic. I only weigh 120 I don’t want to lose weight anymore but want to lower my blood sugar level. What is the best approach to my problems plus high cholesterol too. Thank you so much I really enjoyed your video.

Over a year of a calorie restricted, while foods, low glycemic diet while intermittent fasting did nothing to help me. I worked out 16 hours per week and didn’t lose a single pound. The only thing that has helped is Ozempic. I’ve done nothing else differently.

Hello doctor. I was wondering if seborrheic keratosis is also a symptom?
I recently visited a dermatologist regarding hundreds of tiny SK as well as hormonal acne. She a few hormone blood tests including a fasting glucose test. I received my results today and she said I am insulin resistant.
I have a healthy diet and a lean. I am a long covid patient of 17 months. My guess is that the virus has caused this.
Any thoughts? The SK is awful. I am covered in them

Im a male 34, I have 45 inche belly fat, blood pressure more than 150, fasting glucose I dont know, fasting trygli dont know, hdl I dont know, skin tags, I have like 40 skin tags some are very little, acathosis I have on groin only a little, retaining water easly = only wehn I eat salty food, DO I HAVE PREDIABETE?
