I started a putting green project last year, can’t wait to get back at it this spring. I took a different approach with mine (Bermuda also, but mine is tifway419)... Instead of gradually taking it down, I scalped mine from 0.7” to 0.3”, then dethached and verticut it with a cheap sunjoe in 3 directions, then leveled with sand... let it grow back out for a week then started cutting at 0.3” for a couple weeks, then dropped it to 0.25” for a couple cuts, then finally at 0.156” (4mm). Had a tough time getting it to fully grow in at 4mm, and colder temps were coming, so I moved back up to 0.3” for the rest of the growing season. It didnt take too long for all the brown crowns to disappear, but it may take yours a bit longer since you haven’t verticut/dethatched or anything, to get that debri out of the way. Enjoying following your progress though! I was pumped when you decided to do this, because it’ll give me ideas for when it warms back up here in the states...

It’s going to look great once it’s finished, even better if we got some careful with your Bore water that it doesn’t stain the bricks of your home, my mother in law had a Bore put in years ago and the water from it stained her bricks that are a similar colour to yours, also her garden should be Proud Ben Of How far you’ve come with your Youtube channel, Who would Of Thought...Watching Someone Mow would Entertain So Many...Well Done...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Can’t wait to see some legit putting action on the lawn. Hopefully your putting skills are up to the same standard as your free keeping skills 😉 Also hoping you can do a vid on cutting putting cup holes and moving/repairing holes? Awesome vid as always 👍

Hey mate,
Love the content your putting through. It’s good to see some honest tips with out just pushing product.
Have you ever used one of the Ryobi 18v Cylinder mowers? I know it’s sounds dumb, but I have a tiny yard that’s not worth a proper reel mower at all. But if you have seen them would love your feedback! Legend!

Sweet Ben.
Looking great.
Be awesome once the bore is in and you can get a bit of extra H2O on It

Hey Ben, when your bore arrives, will you add irrigation to your golf green? Would be interesting to see that installed, although it would be a nightmare digging up the driveway. Over here in Perth, I'm getting a bore in the new year. The bore guys will install a garden tap off the bore so I can also hand water in the front yard with bore water. Hope you guys get some rain soon. Toasty.

I’ll say that’s not a bad roll for where it’s at. If that was my neighbor you would’ve heard a comment for sure lol. Another great video !!!!

You should be applying growth regulator with your mix. It'll help with lateral growth and keep from scalping when you mow it lower.

Nice stuff! Thanks to you I'm thinking about having a go at doing a small green as well next season (winter here in europe) I have a perfect 25sqm spot in my yard as well for that kind of experiment :D
