Words of wisdom Tom !!.. before getting married my pinay girlfriend came twice with a tourist visa ( 2 × 3 months ) to Belgium.. only then I was sure she was the woman for me .. that was 9 years ago and we are still happily married..

Hi Tom, another great video.
I remember my ex fiance calling me a day before I'm leaving for the Philippines she says we need too slow down and not rush into marriage I said ok. I went to Tacloban her home town. Met her family and talked with her pastor.
Once I got to be around her I started to realize that it was good we got to know each other better. I would have been miserable if we got married.
Two months later she broke up with me. Sorry this was the short version.
Take care and God bless you and your family.

Great video Tom! Yep, the Filipina Foreigner Highway Of Love is littered with relationship road kill. It takes time to learn about a person - any person. It takes even longer to learn a new county, a new culture, a different language, a new way of thinking and living. IMO, foreigners need to have their boots on the ground for at least a full year before even thinking about marriage. Thank you for passing out the chill pills!

Tom you hit the nail on the head about communication….my beautiful girlfriend lives in Dumaguete and she will ask if I’m mad a lot and I’m not mad…in fact I’m easy going most of the time…I hope to be there in a few months as I’m waiting to get my Social Security and I will probably rent my house out and move there to see if we’re compatible even tho I’ve known her for 3 years and yes I was there before Covid-19 for 3 weeks. I think Tom this topic is so important now that people are coming to the Philippines 🇵🇭 that you should cover this topic a few more times as it’s interesting and so important. God Bless you and your family

Good advice Tom. What you are saying is like trying to shift gears without pushing in on the clutch, it just won't work. Nice hair cut.

In 2019, I met a woman online. I came from the US in Feb of 2020 and stayed a month traveling with her. We decided to live together in Palawan. (not her home island). The plan was for me to go back to the US and settle my affairs, then return in maybe two months. Then, Covid happened. I was now in an LDR for 23 months. I sent money and she has always been responsible. We spoke on the phone every day. I arrived back in the Philippines on Feb 10th of this year. We are finally together again. Everything is wonderful. We? / I decided that we will live together and possibly get married sometime in the future. She is 32 years old. I'm 61 and she accepted that open ended proposal. I am certain about our love for each other. I know from experience that there is a lot more to a successful relationship than love. We work though issues on a daily basis. Thanks for your video Tom. Patience is truly a virtue; especially in the Philippines.

Great video, sitting here listening to the rain. Saturday was awful, no electricity or running water. Went to a terrific resort in Pangantucan. MGG resort is awesome. 5 Tom's up rating 😅😅😅

Those rose-colored glasses are very powerful ! Married almost 17 years now and the communication issues are still there. I'll say " Hey baby I've gotta work this weekend." She'll will reply off the wall " OK but I don't want to go to the store ." I am think WTF does me working have to do with her going to the store. It's an ongoing battle even after 17 years. 😀

Nice video as usual. My husband courted me for 4 years I was 21 and wasn’t tired yet of being single but my dad told me he’s the right guy for me so I did marry him. I laughed when you said about not knowing how to cook and I was one of them, growing up with 3 maids cuz parents were busy of their careers I didn’t learn any chores till I get here. I’m glad my mom was a good cook and she’s a home economics teacher, she sent me all her recipes and I think I’m a very good cook now. I tease him all the time that I feel like a maid now.
