the difference between plant based and vegan is the lifestyle. vegan is a lifestyle choice, and therefore anything you use will not be made from animal products (i.e. no leather, no cosmetics/cleaning supplies with animal based ingredients or tested on animals, being ethical about where you spend your money etc.) plant based is strictly just the food aspect of it, but it still does not allow for animal products to be eaten. also yes the meat alternatives are usually higher in fat and lower in protein but natural plant based proteins like certain beans have more protein per weight than other meats!

I've been living and breathing the WFPB/vegan lifestyle since New Year's Day 2020, I'm 16 and my dad still gives me plenty of crap but I don't care, I know what's best for my body👍🏼 Thanks for putting a good word out for the WFPB/vegan movement, and making it clear that it's only personal choice that you're not a part of it. I am not vegan but I eat whole food plant based most of the time. My breakfast and lunch are basically always vegan, and then about every other day I have a little bit of fish or meat with dinner. It was a gradual transition for me, but I have to say I feel very good now.
One tip for you and anyone deciding to eat plant based more often. Try to limit the amount of processed vegan meats and include more legumes and nuts and seeds instead. Like you said in the video, if health is your goal you want to stick to whole foods as much as possible, vegan processed foods can of course be unhealthy as well. Mexican dishes are an example of an easy place to start, since they often include beans.

Imagine if the entire world, did meat free Monday. I love my Vegan diet, I veganise Greg Doucettes diet and I've seen a huge difference. Also like you I love fruits and veggies and feel so much better eating better 💚

By the way one of my favorite plant based recipes is one cup of chickpea flour slowly add a cup of water with salt pepper spices let rest two hours make sure you scoop off the foam as much as possible add some rosemary and a gulp olive oil bake in oven till crispy so good with a salad or vege stirfry

It's been a year since I've eaten any meat. Mostly plant base do eat cheese occasionally. I feel better than ever. Switched for health reasons to reduce my risk of chronic disease

I respect you for trying the WFPB diet, but I’ll caution anyone that sees this video that beyond meat, meat substitutes and others are as processed as they come and are not generally a part of the Whole Foods plant based diet, and neither are vegan protein powders or cooking oils. I make a sausage crumble out of lentils, mushrooms, walnuts and spices. That’s whole food.

I'm definitely not for a plant-based or vegan diet. I think there are too many vital nutrients found in fish (omega 3s) and meat (b-vitamins, iron, zinc etc.) and eggs (choline, omega 3s)- plus the full amino acid profile and recoverability. People point to like Kyrie Irving being vegan and yeah BUT - dudes missed 1/2 of every season. Cam Newton's career/health went down the gutter when he switched. There's something there.

Also - i think people look at Mark Wahlberg being vegan and think "Oh he built his body this way" when in reality, he didn't and maintaining your current shape or muscle is really easy vs. building it. Not saying it can't work. I think if it's for ethical reasons I get it - but for health reasons not really.

If someone can look at the ingredient profile of a beyond meat burger (20+ ingredients and loaded with omega 6 inflammatory fatty acids) and say it's better than ground beef or bison or steak(1 ingredient) - I think there's something wrong...

$254, btw ran out of my go to protein for my greg doucette ice cream that i make literally 2-3 times a day, copped that pes choc cupcake and the consistency is unreal. Totally regret sleeping on their products all these days
