The Holy Trinity of refuting apologists:
Apologist: The Trinity’s in the Bible!
Dan: No it’s not!
Apologist: SHUT UP MORMON!
Bart: He’s right, it’s not in the Bible!
Apologist: SHUT UP ATHEIST!
Pete Enns (a Christian): They’re both right, it’s not in the Bible.
Apologist:….SHUT UP!!!!

"performance of an argument"
I really like this phrase. It perfectly describes all those apologists defenses I was taught that seemed so solid on first pass but completely fell apart the moment you began to examine them with even a hint of criticality.

I don’t even understand how they can understand trinity, when they don’t even understand it themselves.

I’m so happy people like Dan exist to debunk these mindless preachers

Oh, he did not just add Genesis and Isaiah as support for the Trinity 💀

Dr Dan takes his time to explain and paint a wonderful picture that most can follow. I wish there was one video where he lets an apologist ramble on and on and then ends with him just saying "nah, and the fit for this video is..."

I like that the Bible tells us that the function of bears is to discipline impudent children. Mostly because I'm not a child. Well, physically.

Dan, I love your LEGO analogy. It gave me a hopeful vision for deconstructing the harmful dogmas that are so triggering and damaging to so many of us. Thank you!

I’m not ashamed to admit that my favorite part of this video is Dan pluralizing Lego correctly 😂

So basically, the magic of interpretation

As a kid, it was a lot of fun to take Lego pieces that were supposed to be one thing, and reimagining it as something completely different, like turning a plant or animal into a piece on a spaceship. Obviously it was never fully right, but it was good enough for someone with a lot of imagination. It's amusing to see apologists doing the exact same thing with the Bible.

Always refreshing to hear your content. You do such a great job of forcing people who, seek to learn more, actually think about where their doctrine come from

I remember being the only one in a bible college that would argue against "inerrancy" and "inspiration". It never made sense to me that someone could actually read the bible and think it is inerrant or inspired. People cling on to univocality so fervently. I would enjoy going to classes in school that were discussion based. I always asked the other students, "have y'all actually read the bible?"

I realized He wasn't omniscient omnipresent when He walked in the Garden and He didn't know _someone_ ate a specific fruit.

No, but I am pretty sure that Morpheus and Neo are somewhere in 2

Doesn’t every negotiation with faith/the Bible involve the Lego block analogy?
