I'm so glad to hear that this was a social experiment but it's sad that there are some ppl who actually go through this it makes me cry...

Hits the feels cuz if you live in an Asian household you know how your parents show their love in very subtle ways like giving you the best piece of the chicken drumstick while they just tell you to eat while smiling.

What happened was he lied to his son saying him and his friends ordered lots of food but after he hung up he was sad because he could barely afford any food so the waiters and people around him started crying because they over heard so they gave the man a full free meal.

Edit:Thank you so much for the likes I hate to be that person but thank you so much
But this is something that really happens so if you ever see this make sure they are ok ☺😊

BTW it's a social experiment

I was at IHOP the other day. Only my son was eating and I had some work stuff to finish so my partner brought him in to sit down and eat. What they didn't know was I also couldn't afford to eat so it made sense to do it this way. I didn't want my son to see me not eating and he needed quality time with his dad. The server realized what was going on and brought my son two extra plates of food and waived the entire meal. I'm crying just sitting here thinking about it. My partner didn't wanna leave without paying, he felt terrible but the server wouldn't take no for an answer. Of course we still tipped

Humans have a curse called empathy
Hits hard and refuses to leave you until you do something about it.
Bless us.

This man's acting is so real, he should act in a drama or something.

When I was in college, me and a friend of mine went out to eat at a very affordable restaurant (college students are usually broke) anyway, a saw a father and a daughter (his daughter was about 10 y/o) when their order came it was only for one person, the father did not eat, it was only for her daughter. Me and my friends felt so bad for him, we wanted to give something to them, but we don’t have extra, and we were already halfway through our food. Sometimes I wish I have more money whenever I see something like this.

I was a waitress where this older man would come in and sit down, Order food and always insist his son was on his way to join him (said the son was a surgeon and was very busy). He never showed. I never got if he was delusional or just liked telling himself that but it hurt my heart every time.

this man probably spent his entire life sacrificing endlessly for his children. he has given everything, and at the end he reaps no real benefit of his own. it hurts the heart more than anything to see a deserving man scrabble for basic necessities.

Even if this is just a social experiment there's a lot of mothers and fathers who has to face the same exact thing so let's help everyone every way we can...❤

This reminds me so much of my dad. He was an alcoholic, normal person just addicted never abusive or aggressive at all. I used to go visit him and he would tell me I’m down to like 2 beers a day I don’t even need that much alcohol. His liver and other parts of him shut down. I bash my self for not helping and used to be annoyed he wasn’t honest so I could help. He told me one day I could rent an apartment with him if I wanted to get away from my family and live by myself. Although I still feel like it’s partially my fault at the end of the day I understand he never wanted me to worry. No matter how much pain he was in he wanted me to feel like he will always be there. I love you dad ❤

I remember a birthday where I had a fight with mom. I hated her that day because I wanted to go out to the beach with my friends and she declined. My father took me there anyway, borrowed money, and apologized to me for a bad start of the day. He was tearing up as he left. I had a great day with photos ro match. Years later, I realized I was selfish. Because of all the memories that day, I minimized the important ones; my mom upset that I'd like to spend it with friends instead of family, my dad crying who borrowed money, and the food and cake they prepared and ate without me because I was not there. If I could take it back, I would like to re-live my younger days loving my family more.
