It all goes back to Ivan Lendl. His was first “modern” forehand with all the steps you named: unit turn, etc. Because he played with a small Racket for the beginning years of his career, he only had less hip movement and explosiveness then these modern guys. Andrea had less hip movement then the youngsters

I would love to see you analyze Sampras forehand and if he’s also using modern forehand technique. Keep up the great work

Agassi is modern tennis Godfather. His game style and strokes wpuld work in todays fast gamę cos he was the one who always hit ball on the rise. Other thing he was one the first players who took physical prep seriously

For a modern forehand, I would showcase Alcaraz, Shelton, Zverev. They have the more wrist-action oriented modern forehand.

It would be interesting if you could add Steffi Graf's forehand in the mix, I would love to hear your comments and comparison on it, as it has remained an iconic stroke even compared to the men's players....Excellent analysis, I enjoy watching your videos !

One area you did not flag was the wide stance they all adopt, feet wider than shoulder width, that gives stability to the swing. Too many amateurs are too upright with a narrow stance. Would you agree?

Agassi of course has a modern FH. But it’s very different from the others you showed. He does not “pat the dog” at all and has an “on edge” racquet drop like many other great FH’s. The strings down pay the dog seems to be more common now though

Nothing against you but isn’t your forehand not quite a modern, if it is the flip is smaller compared to pros right? I’m asking because mine is sort of like it and I don’t know if it’s better or not to get a bigger flip like the pros are

Just finished rewatching the Roddick serve & now here's another beauty

Good analysis. In sum, Pat the Dog is racquet head speed's secret sauce. And few among amateurs have even heard the expression!

Just look at 2:30 vs 9:20. Agassi's does not have the lag that Fed has. There is no racket flip as a result. Also, Agassi doesn't contact the ball as far in front as Fed does. And this is the result of having a very loose wrist at contact which Agassi does not have. And this is one of the main keys to the power of the modern forehand. I like your videos but your argument that Agassi uses the Modern Forehand is very poor and frankly doesn't show a great understanding of tennis.
