Today is the first day my first meat chickens are out on the pasture. You guys were my introduction into homesteading and I'm just so thankful for all you've shared and inspired other's and myself to do. You guys are amazing. You'll recieved a heavenly reward for all the ways you have blessed so many people over the years.

Chickens improving pasture is no joke I only have a 1/2 acre so we raised meat chickens in a tractor and rotated them around the yard it cut down on our mowing last year but this year the area they were on has grass that is 3x the grown rate and thickness of the rest of the yard that didn't have birds on it.

Thanks for showing your fence! Looked it up....Shock or Not fence. Looks amazing! I have Premier’s old chick system which is a separate green plastic netting with its own poles that has to be set up on the inside of the hot poultry netting. Cumbersome!!!

I'm using the deep litter method in a 4 x 6 "raised" coop for (6) 5 weeks old egg layers -not meat chickens. The coop has a 150 watt heat emitter that stays on 24/7.I open the coop door when the temperature outside reachs 50 degrees or above .Their run is 45 sq ft and predator proof. It has a very wide ramp that allows easy access in or out of the coop and run.My chicks go out as they please and come back as they please. They all come in the coop in the evening before dark.Thru out the day they will go in the coop but they prefer to be outside. Amazing! I count them all to make sure they're all inside before I close the sliding door to the coop.I check heat emitter too just to make sure its working at night.The coop does have a big window that adds a lot of light.The coops not dark at all.If anyone had ever told me chicks could be raised like this this I wouldn't have believed them.My chicks already roost.Thank you Justin for teaching us how to raise chicks that are healthier, happier and hardier.I couldn't have done it without you!
