The ultimate enemy of loyalty

.... betrayal

Actually a deeply positive message: Betrayal can lead one to abandon trust, or to abandon naivety and replace it with courage while continuing to trust. My choice.

Trust must be earned. Respect must be earned.

It's interesting how it is trust that makes a relationship robust and resilient, yet trust itself is so fragile.

I think that betraying someone who TRULY trusts you, is more than just demolishing the relationship, is demolishing their core identity. Cause if they trusted you so much, it was either because you were special to them, and after this betrayal they'd have a very VERY difficult time opening to someone (new or old) again, or it was because they're generally a trusting individual, but after your betrayal they'll take a look at themselves and rewrite themselves to be far more pessimistic in their view about other people

I’m reminded of…when someone tells (shows) you who they are, believe them.

Trust is first given as a gift. Once that is broken, trust must be EARNED. Being given the chance to earn back trust is a gift too

Dr Peterson is a true doctor. Instead of doling out prescriptions to his patients, he talks to them and helps them figure out how to overcome their problems, instead of sedating them with drugs.

How precisely and eloquently expressed. His command of the English language is enviable.

Dont do business with people who betray you.

Stay away from them.

“… you can’t betray me unless I’ve trusted you.”🎯 and “Future trust must be built on COURAGE and 🚫 naivety” thank you. I’d add be more selective too.

Jordan Peterson, you’re the closest thing to a saint that I’ve ever come across in my lifetime and I pray with all my heart you will receive God’s love and his grace. Thank you for everything you do ❤

I've been betrayed by someone very close and that person then regret that later but I've come so far now and I am not gonna go back. I'm so strong right now.

I got demolished by the one person I trusted the most and gave the majority of my life to. I discovered that I put my trust in him instead of trusting myself, and that is what did me in. I need to put trust in myself first, that I can make a life on my own that matters to me.Betrayal by a supposed loved one is devastating on all levels.

You shouldn't abandon trust in humanity. You should walk away from someone that is only ' full of snakes'.

Recovering from that betrayal which is destroyed trust is the hardest thing you can ever do the only thing you can do is to forgive yourself and try to MoveOn.

What I have taken in is that you define the closeness you have to people. You decide what they know about you, you decide how to interact and you decide not to.

Wise person, he'll be an another great man in history of humanity. I can't say and demonstrate how grateful I am that I live with this Person at the same time.

Ripped me apart mentally and emotionally. I couldn't function properly, loyalty is precious to me. Being betrayed I could only breathe, with the right people to help me, I can now easily see, the manipulation allowed by me. Never ever again will I see, through rose tinted.spectacles.
I now trust only me.

He has a way with words. This is the battle I've been fighting; but I couldn't fight properly because I couldn't see clearly. Peterson established what this battle is: the choice to move forward in my relationship, but with wisdom. Recognizing he is not perfect (as I am not perfect) and now having my eyes wide open to this; still choosing to move forward with him.
