Helene aftermath: Dozens dead and millions without power

Resources are being rushed to East Tennessee and West North Carolina after Hurricane Helene ripped through multiple states.

I’d call it nearly 100.

“Dozens” is a vaguely inaccurate choice of title here. It diminishes assumptive reality.

Most people don’t use dozens interchangeably with 100.

The president can't think of any other words you describe it but stunning ? Are leadership calls an area having complete towns the mountain town some of them wash completely away 100 not even thousands of people that are stranded cut off. I have friends from this area I have lived in these areas and my heart is in Western North Carolina and I can tell you now they are not straightforward about the amount of people in the Mount of the deaths that they already know have climbed but they're not reporting them yet and I understand that they don't want to start making people panic at this point I get it but there are a lot of people worried anyway when there's no communication. We have college kids that are stranded what places like Black Mountain where there are several truckers that got stuck up on the mountain they haven't been rescued off yet you have First Responders that have reported that they have had to deal with fires along with the flooding and that they're trying to rescue the people that are living and having to Wade through bodies. No one has ever seen anything like this in a lifetime not in this lifetime and now we have another system that they're looking at so what time is so critical not only to saving people that might be in places where they are maybe injured or can't get to the drops drops that are being made they have search and rescue going on and I have no doubt that North Carolina is on top of it because that's what they do. North Carolina is a strong state but at this point we should be having a lot more Government Federal people that's involved with this getting their asses down there and putting their lives on the line like everybody else to help get at least they could get on and give a damn press conference and let people know that things are happening to let us know that we got some freaking remote type of leadership and is this scenario does not wake people up in this country and I don't care what political party you want to endorse this is about Humanity this is about human lives this is about you better know that we are out here for each other and that's what we got is each other because we damn sure do not have anybody in any kind of leadership on either end that is putting us priority right now when it is critical because there's another storm system that's Brewing and none of us and none of us down here in the South or Southeast states can take another hit even if it's a category 1. Western North Carolina eastern part of Tennessee but particularly Western North Carolina is in a critical critical place and you have First Responders that are working around the clock risking their life because travel is unattainable and it is unsustainable there the roads everything as landslides and mudslides continue to happen I've never seen anything like this and honestly I knew that there would come a day that things like this were going to happen and I understand but I don't know how to wrap my head around this much tragedy right now everyone needs to pull together as a country and pray because I would not be surprised did the death toll is not calculated in the end to be over 1000 people I had one friend that has reported a number that I am not going to share right now because I don't want to make people panic either until we get it confirmed but if the government does not start opening up soon and being honest with the people the narrow groups of people that are going to be honest for them we're not going to be strong up in the middle of some hidden agenda that's going on nor are we concerned about this damn election right now but one thing about it the federal government needs to realize that Americans are getting very very exhausted was having our intelligence insulted gaslighted, lie to an emotionally manipulated while the people that are supposed to be leading this nation or even the people that want to leave this nation because it's both sides in my opinion at this point if you have not as an American awaken to the fact that not only have we been lied to for a very long time but that our lives do not mean anything they really do not we are like herded cattle and when tragedy strikes the federal government seems to go in hiding probably figuring out whatever it is which is a whole nother ball game but it's too much to get into right now when the most important thing does concentrating on getting as many people to safety as possible and Save in as many lives as possible. All the other stuff the rebuilding the cleanup management all that is second right now in Western North Carolina they are just trying to get live saved into safety and get them communication water food shelters because I dare say there's anybody's home in that whole area of any town outside of Asheville and some of Asheville even has even a road left to the town to even get into much less a home or anything else and the ones that have roads left on there are busted up and big chunks and holes and they can't they're not passable and the homes in the houses even if they're standing there back off something where you can't get to them safely so we have a lot of people and why we don't have more people from the federal government side instead of the North Carolina National Guard responders from other surrounding states and volunteers but we have one of the wealthiest most advanced military units in the world in the white house should have already sent them in to bring Aid and Rescue assistance and don't think that this is not going to come to light because it is most certainly will. God is behind everyone situations and I know that he does not want us to fear but he had to shake things to get the enemies hold off of his people and off of the land but he will restore what the swarming locusts have eaten. We just have to stay faithful and strong as a country may God be with us all
