RFID Skimming of ATM and Credit Cards

With technology comes also the dark side of it. The ability to efficiently read and scan a credit card enabled with RFID chip can be misused if the technology is being used by the wrong hands. Even though banks and financial institution currently are implementing encrypted information in the RFID chips in the credit card, however with new scanner technology in the market, a hacker or skimmer can obtain at least your personal information retrieved from illegally scanning your credit card. This can be easily done by having a RFID scanner near enough to your wallet. Personal information such as your name, address, and other info embedded in the ATM or credit card can used for illegal means if it is in the wrong hands. Another possible way is RFID skimming. RFID skimming is a form of identity theft and duplicating it so that a clone credit card or ATM card can created. This clone card contains the exact information as the information contained in your original credit card or ATM card.
