You would need kvm module in the kernel. You can run the vm on hyper-v which does its own gpu virtualisation. Hyper v is what WSL runs on instead

i am facing a problem, i install virt-manager in win-11 with GWSl. but when i start VIRT, it's required add new connection and guess what nothing accepted yet. do you have discord or something or have any solution?

I think you should try some Linux Distributions too like Linux Mint, Zorin OS, Elementary OS etc.

Basically you are running a HyperV-based Ubuntu VM... within which you are running KVM. That's nested virtualization. Yes, that's gonna be slower than a physical machine... and you wouldn't be able to do hardware pass-thru. You can make your machine dual-boot and run Linux on the native hardware.

I've been using Linux since January of 1995 and have been using KVM for years now. I've not tried GPU pass-thru myself as I've not ever had a second GPU to try. I think it is still a bit of a black art as it typically requires a bit of manual configuration to setup... or so I've been told by those who have done it. Yes, it can be done. I think Linus Tech Tips did a 4 GPU setup... for something like, 4 Gamers ; 1 PC. I'm not much of a gamer. I say get a console. The MiSTer FPGA rules for retro gaming and that's what I have.

I think Windows and Linux are more alike these days than ever before... except with all of the choice of Desktop Environments there are to pick from on Linux. Pick one you like and it shouldn't be too difficult.

You need to have enabled virtualization in BIOS in your windows 11 computer. I guess therefore the installation of VM is too slow.

hey guy, if you are not a codder don´t try Linux... even if you are a codder, don´t use Linux... it is a painfull system full of console needings and it is needed to study hours to do anything that is solved in to any other system like Android, OSx or Windows, of course.

Linux is to connect propperly hardware to a system, it is nice and powerfull for only freacking experts... but else them needs to ask google how to do stupid things, solved 10 years ago into any other OS
