How to Install Windows 11 in KVM on Ubuntu 22.04

In this video I will show you how to install Windows 11 in KVM on Ubuntu 22.04. KVM (for Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a full virtualization solution for Linux on x86 hardware containing virtualization extensions (Intel VT or AMD-V).

Using KVM, one can run multiple virtual machines running unmodified Linux or Windows images. Each virtual machine has private virtualized hardware: a network card, disk, graphics adapter, etc.

I have found that this is the sole instructional video that is effective for me. The only component that failed to function was the Redhat QXL display driver. I will find out if there are any updates elsewhere. Thanks a bunch.

Why'd you use the w10 virtio SCSI driver rather than the w11 virtio SCSI driver folder?

it worked apart from my network. I get the IP address assigned in QEMU and in W11 but there is no Internet? Do I need to tell QEMU to pump the Internet into the network port? I have used virtio-win-0.1.229.iso for the drivers and I did follow everything else on the video (not sure why w10 was chosen in the first step when w11 as also there)

This is a clumsy way of doing it. Load the network driver at the same time you load the HD driver and you can avoid all the "I don't have internet" stuff. After install, all the virtio drivers (or a subset) can be installed in one step.
