Wrists can flexion( decrease angle with forearm) or extension (increase angle with forearm)
"extension" in BS, means to increase the angle in BS, with the lead wrist. ie point the lead thumb down
during the BS. Or do as Moe Norman and preset the extension of the lead wrist before takeaway
and simply hold or increase the angle between the lead forearm and golf club to increase clubhead arc ie clubhead speed.in DS.

"Bowing of the lead wrist " also includes extension of the lead wrist, simultaneously.

The Hell drill - swinging with the right hand open (i.e. not gripping the club) and resting on the shaft - helps me take the excess right hand motion out of the swing causing the shaft to shallow and create lag. Unfortunately, when go back to making swings gripping the club normally, I get steep and early release.
