Why I sold my Analog Rytm...

Initially switch to the Syntakt mainly for the smaller footprint as Rytm and Syntakt share (almost) the same drum engines... Syntakt was more than that and didn't expect it...

You can grab the Syntakt project with the pattern from Sketch 4 and 6 on my patreon. I also realised that when editing there is two times sketch 4 and 6, so you get all 4 pattern.

1:45 Same! Everything has to be on the desk. When I first purchased an OG Digitakt I even had two strict rules: 1) No 4-on-the-floor and 2) No 120bpm+ until I learned the instrument. My rules served me well—I'm now making bangers🖤

I felt this way about the AR too. I often put it away. Then after a couple of month only using DT/ST/DN I rediscover the AR and was blown away by its grit, dynamics, aggressive delay and reverb. It stands out from the pack. The smaller siblings sound great, don't get me wrong. But the AR has something special which cannot be recreated with the others.

Idk how you did it but you dropped this at the perfect time lol I've been getting heavy into the elektron world and trying to decide between a full rytm or one of the -takts. This was super helpful and I loved hearing your sketches and would love to see more with it!

Great video! I can't wait to see you sketch and then build a track with the Syntakt!

Great vid Paul & yes all my (limited) external stuff has to be close or it’s not going to get used much. Got the Syntakt for £700 - the Rhythm is double that. Never considered it worth it..

Looking forward to that video where you sketch on the Syntakt and then build out the track.

Loved this different style video and your personal input/experience with gear for the kind of techno you were teaching here too. As someone who recently got a syntakt I might be biased but more gear content could be welcome

Syntakt was my first hardware after meddling with fl studio as a hobbyist for a while. I still have lots of fun jamming on it two years later, what a fun machine ❤

Same here, bought the AR partly because of your videos, totally loved it, then sold it because of the inconvenient form factor

I like the video and look forward to see what you can do with the syntakt!

I recently got the EP-133 and also have a Microfreak, 303, and Circuit laying around so am really wondering how are you connecting all of your gear together? Is it all just being sent into a mixer you have and the to ableton? 🤔
