My Main Sharpening Setup

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Why I recommend Shapton Pro Stones?
Compared to the Naniwa Chosera line, you're getting a much better deal, almost less than half the price on some grits. Although the Chosera stones are thicker, the Shapton Pro stones are much harder, they will most likely have about the same lifespan. With Shaptons you don't worry about cracking issues, Both of my choseras have cracks. Shaptons are true splash and go, not a big deal. If you're a beginner the shapton pro is the way to go, because the base it comes with is already a stone holder, and container. Choseras can probably perform better with a larger variety of steels, but Shaptons excel at Carbon steel, and do decent with modernized steel.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Why this setup? I found that this setup was extremely versatile with kitchen knives, The Chosera 400 to repair minor damage and re-apex the bevel, the 2k Shapton Pro to sharpen, and remove the scratches from the Chosera 400, and to finish it off and refine the bevel, the Shapton Pro 5000 does an excellent job. Followed along with a strop with good compounds, excellent sharp edges every time.
