I had a totin chip when I was in boy scouts. I remember trying to use these but I never knew enough about them when I was younger to use them properly. Figured I might as well look it up and sharpen my old boy scout knife.

When grinding, you need to split the knife in 3 zones and use up and down motion in each zone. This keeps even pressure on the blade. Your method can work but will take forever. I prefer your method for polishing only.

I appreciate your simple guide, my grandpa used to sharpen his knives with a whet stone, and I just wasn’t smart enough to learn from him while I had the chance, but I have to make a request, and I don’t know why this is happening, but your music is just inducing extreme anxiety in me! I’ve never had that happen before, I’ve never had anxiety attacks before, EVER! But it was everything I could do to listen all the way through the very short video, and the only reason was because of the music… Otherwise the video was spot on, short and sweet!!!

I’ve been sharpening my knives by pushing the knife the opposite way with the blade digging into the stone. Have I been doing it wrong?😂
