HOW TO COME UP WITH A GREAT BAND NAME

How to come up with a great band name. Today you need a name which not only represents you but also is easily findable. So how do you come up with a name for your band that ticks all these boxes?

A great tip is to go onto Spotify and right down a list of words in rows and columns and try and come up with 300+ words. Then start piecing them together to se what you can come up with. Here is an example using random words i can see around me.

Paris Exposed Radio
Time Hope Kings
Thumb Yourself Remain
Tea Cage Box
Phone Hearts Enemies

Then try coming up with some ideas
Enemies of Kings
Exposed hearts
Hope in Paris
PhoneTime

Just some examples but you can see how the creativity gets taken out of the equation and you aren't staring at a blank page.

Have a go and see what you come up and then as soon as you have something go straight to facebook and google and do a search with the title and the word band :
Enemies of Kings Band - See how many bands and then go from there.

If I had to think of a band name I would call them Turf. Simple, rememberable, sweet and short.

I’ve always thought that if I was in a blues rock band, I’d wanna call it Red Heavy. I’d do Jimi Hendrix covers and stuff.

Our band had a name One Way but the the band one direction and then we got a name left handed so if things don't go right go left but that also doesn't work

My band was called "pORqUE" (which we pronounced as "pork").
Despite the capitalization, it was impossible to google (and also taken by other acts).

The moment we shortened it to simply "pORq" it was a million times easier to to find (the spelling was also easier to explain).
