I don't know if this happens to anyone. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I usually have a VERY CLEAR picture of a finished design. Mostly logos with business names I've never heard of.

How come I never found this channel before today? This man clears up my mind in everything he talks about. Top quality video, clear sound, nice talking pace that makes me feel like I'm in the conversation, doesn't waste time spinning over and over on one idea. It is rare to find people on youtube that talk nonstop without editing or cutting the video. You just earned a subscriber and became the best channel on my list.

Can't believe I used this technique in my undergrads not knowing it was actually a thing. Thank you futur to bring it to light!

I’m only 14 and make logos but thanks to your videos I went from charging $5 for a logo to $125 logos. Thanks!

I think a lot of creatives run away from downtime because it gets misconstrued as procrastination..but like after every workout, there must be time to let the muscles relax and recover, the creative muscle is no different.

Tapping into the power of the subconscious mind. Theta brain waves. The mind science that art schools don’t teach us but it’s so, so important.

Now that I think back about it, i've used this method plenty of times, just never realized this is what was helping me get new ideas out. I've had instances where I'd been so lost I felt like I couldn't continue if the ideas aren't coming to me and other instances where they were coming and I ended up losing them because I couldn't record them.

Thanks for all you guys do!

Just watching this video now and I can't believe Chris Do comes up with ideas pretty much the same way I do! Whenever an idea hits me it's usually when I'm doing something mundane. I love doing mundane tasks cos they help my brain to switch off. I get the best ideas walking the dogs, showering and washing the dishes. I then employ another technique and that's to not act on that new impulse idea but rather let it rest in my head for a few days/weeks and see what it develops into. That's my process for personal projects.

I made a sale today because I communicated with my customer about color and texture that was clear. It was soo satisfying to be upfront and real. I woke up with the answers to her questions.

Chris, this video is so shockingly relevant for me. I've had this experience multiple times where I purposely think about a problem, in music, programming, or design, with the hope that my subconscious just figures it out through the night and it has been extremely helpful. I'm 22 now, so through college I used this to learn Calculus and prepare for exams, haha. I didn't know if there was a method to it or it was just something I found by accident, but hearing you suggest and support this idea as someone who is far more experienced really speaks volume. Thank you!

As I said it the other they, the synchronicity of the answers is flawless. I believe Chris is a very clear headed person and talking from his heart, that's why his answers goes straight through my mind into my heart.

Ohhh. Thats what I naturally do. I was never aware of my process so I sometimes struggled to make it happen again on purpose. I just did it.

Transcendental Meditation is a powerful tool to reach your subconscious and find answers within you. Chris, as always, bringing gold to the table.

This whole video was gold, and on top of that, he managed to keep it under 10 minutes.

I've noticed what you said happening to me. I would get interesting piece of music while sleeping, and I would get new ideas when reading about something else. I remember a wise man say that we get all the ideas we need when reading or doing something else that's totally unrelated. Thanks for this great video.

Possibly the most zen design advice I've heard- Checks out though! Shower time is key!

My process is somewhat similar to that. Usually I get the most out of my brain when I lay down on my bed before the sleep phase while I'm listening to certain music. Very good video Chris!

Thanks for sharing this Chris.

I've had these evrika moments in the past, but they were more like happy accidents. Intuitively, I knew the ingredients, like planting the seeds and taking a break, but you articulated the process perfectly.
