In VA we also have sales taxes of 6.5% as well as property taxes (this includes your home as well as cars, boats, motorcycles, etc). Our sales tax is relatively low compared to the rest of the country but property taxes make up for it.

What’s insane here is the state income tax. The state of Virginia doesn’t give you shit for your taxes, let alone enough to be more than a 3rd of your federal taxes.

Still better than California. I swear the more money I make the more broke I feel. I see why everyone gets loans like crazy to live the life that they want. I will refuse to live in debt.

Sakes tax, property tax, taxes paid by companies you buy products and services from, fees, it's well over 50%.

Dont forget about the sales tax (6.5%), yearly car registration fees ($1000's a year), alcohal tax etc. Virginia loves taxes, expecially any money they can get out of NoVa and send to the rural areas.

And then you get to pay sales tax on EVERYTHING! Don’t forget the hidden taxes as well..energy/phone(ect) bills.

This is actually pretty standard. Even in Florida we pay 20% but also have extremely high everything prices. Going to move north within the next 2 years.

I will sign for that, in the Netherlands you pay 54% tax with that amount…

That can buy land, buy a home, and a new car here in TN.

Plus pretty much anything you buy you pay taxes on, and people out here think they're free.

You should do a list of lowest 3 in USA and highest 3.

Yeah, that's pretty standard in the US. Glad you figured this out.

Try WA state. Highest sales tax in the country 10.2%. Highest gas tax in the country. Second highest property tax. No state tax here, but everything you buy is taxed to the Fn moon and the overall cost of living is god awful. This place sucks azz.

What's going to happen if we don't pay taxes.
