Hey thanks for checking out the video! Feel free to like and subscribe if you want to support the channel! Today we’re attempting to fix the melting dashboard on my Lexus is250 and fill in the large cracks. I realize this will never replace a brand new dash so I’m shooting for something that looks about 90% better. Enjoy!

If you have any questions about the repair process, I'd be happy to answer them in the comment section. Below are all the items featured in the video. NO PART OF THIS VIDEO IS SPONSORED.

Thank you for your ideas in this video. I have IS250 2011 and the side of my door is starting to go sticky. Do you think applying the protect coat from Almorral often will help prevent it? Or it's inevitable. My car is in otherwise perfect condition 😭

Lexus reached out to me unexpectedly. Randomly got a letter in the mail one day. They completely replaced my dash, door panels, and interior. Free of charge. Even gave me a free rental while I waited. THANKS LEXUS!!

So hear me out hear, I do love a way to red neck things. I fixed my sticky dash, by spraying brake and clutch cleaner on a cloth and scrubbing the crap out the the dash. Then once everything was dry I do the same with matt black boot Polish, wiped off the excess and done. Looks great, smells great, repeat ever six months.

The best thing to do is to take it to a car shop and have some premium cloth like alcantara glued to the dashboard i have seen many people do it and it makes the dahboard look better then the original gives the car little more premium feel

No, we appreciate you taking the time and research to put together this video. My dash isn't crumbling but I am experiencing the sticky leather which seems to be spreading. Lexus is giving me the run around so I assume I will be "stuck" with the stickiness until now. Thanks for this video.

Thank you Mark for your ingenuity. You gave us all hope in a bad situation. I just bought a 2008 Lexus. Saw the dash and thought someone had dropped a drink or such on it. I was wrong lol . Going to get the sticky dash fix and give it a shot.

Man I remember having this problem with my '07 Camry. After years of having a sticky dash, Toyota gave me a golden ticket in the form of a recall to have it replaced 😊

I have heard that these cracked up dash boards can splinter and harm you when air bags inflate. If that's true, shouldn't Lexus be *required* by law to replace them?

I'm applying the product as we speak. Waiting for the first coat to dry. For me, I got the recall notice, but lived in CA and so the dashboard wasn't sticky. Moved to AZ a year or two later and, well, yeah, now I know what why people were so pissed. The recall has gone, though, so I hope this product works.

Lexus totally dropped the ball on this recall by offering it to countless people and then screwing countless people. There was actually a class action against Lexus over this. The recall program ceased about four years ago now as I recall.

I have a 2007 IS350 and fortunately they did replace my dash many years ago, but they were always out of the door panels, so they put me on a “waiting list”. The problem is that they never called me even after I followed up with them over the years. I eventually forgot about it and then the program ceased. At least I got the dash redone as it was really sticky.

The door panels look horrible and I’m not about to spend $4500.00 on new panels when there are no compatible aftermarket panels for the IS. I think I’ll use this video and see if I can make mine look better. Truth be told, it wouldn’t take much for an improvement in mine since they are so bad. I hate it, because the car only has 67K miles on it.

Great video!

Well you must be in the US because Lexus Australia doesn't care about this problem. Interesting to note that product is made in Victoria, Australia

Lexus Quality! Mine has the same issue. No help at all from Lexus Canada. I made a mistake buying this car. The 1992 Celica GTS I had was bullet proof. Ten times the car. I thought a Lexus would be as good or better. I was wrong.

Have you had your "new" day in warm weather yet? Does it seem as though it will still get sticky in the future?

It's one of those kinds of do it yourself job that works out better on your second attempt. Unfortunately, you usually don't get that opportunity. I bet that if you had another opportunity you would have gotten the edge around the multi-display looking much better. But, that's what your video is for. My dash (2008 Solara Convertible) is very sticky has some serious cracks that will be a challenge to repair. I'll take some before and after pics. I'm very detailed oriented and fully expect to be dissatisfied no matter what BUT the dash must be sealed now, before it's too late. So, here I go!

I purchased this directly from the manufacturer located in Australia. I have a 2009 Camry with a sticky dash. In the summer I thought the whole dashboard might melt away into a big messy blob. In the winter it (my dash) wasn't affected that much. My order was taking way to much time, so I contacted the manufacturer who said they would send me another one. Two days after the manufacturer said they would be sending another package out, I got my original package in the mail.

So now I had two packages. I waited for a nice cool fall day to begin cleaning the dash with the cleaner formula, but after I got it cleaned it would be another year before I applied the actual product. Not sure why maybe pure laziness, or procastination on my part is my guess ? Anyway I got a job driving for Uber recently and that's when I decided to use this poroduct.

The reflections coming from my windshield were just too much ! I had to strain just so I could see past the glare. Enough was enough, so I put a first coat on the dashboard. That first coat helped, but I could still see some glare reflecting from some areas of the dash. So I added a second coat, then a third, which totally solved my glare problem. The product matches the color of my dashboard(grey), petty much, but unfortunately while cleaning, I sort of wiped away the leather-like texture of the dash. Now its a smooth textureless dashboard, but at least the glare is gone !

I might add another coat just to make everything nice and even and pretty. This is a good product, especially if you are going to be driving your car a lot. Another reason why I hesitated, was that I hardly ever drove my car. Just 10 minutes to work and back, but now driving for Uber this thing is a must !

I have always thought that as the car looks depends on each owner, you have done an excellent job inside, I want to buy an equal one and I will share my progress, it is good that you share your Instagram or social networks if you have to follow you and make a lexus community
