White vinegar makes a wonderful multi purpose non toxic cleaner 🎉

This is actually true. It does not leave your clothes smelling like vinegar. My father used to wash my white uniform when i was a kid. it would have yellow pit stains and he used vinegar to remove those stains. I have no idea how he does it though but it works😁

Put it in the fabric softener drawer and add an extra rinse. This is particularly good for those of us with detergent allergies.

Vinegar is awesome. Holds in color and natural softener. Helps remove soap

But it will reduce the effectiveness of your detergent. Acid neutralizes base. Use it in the rinse only.

I am not sure if anyone has noticed, while I love vinegar for this and more; I notice soap or detergent doesn’t do as well, I have find that adding vinegar to the softener fill gives me the same result and doesn’t make my soap less soappy

Vinegar actually sets color in clothing, and I have found that depending on your dryer if it is really old and musty for example then it will make the clothes smell like vinegar (my moms)… For hard water (especially if lots of calcium/lime) it really helps clothes too.

Yes. It does, if you use copious amounts and likely the percentage strength matters too.
My daughter HATES the smell and sometimes I smell it when I remove it from the washer. Just rewash after, minus the vinegar.

Natural fabric softener. 1c per load. So good. No vinegar smell. Always 2 rinses 🎉

Great fabric softener too! Better then the lotion they sell as softener in the stores. Regular fabric softener will destroy your washer.

I use vinegar in the final rinse on bedding and towels instead of fabric softener

I am THE WORST for starting a load of clothes and forgetting about it for days. My SIL taught me this trick and I swear by it now.

Totally does smell. I can smell this on people who use it. It smells like they have a drinking problem, or like they live with cats.

Exactly, distilled (white) vinegar is amazing for all kinds if cleaning jobs especially in your bathroom.
The smell dissipates quickly unlike toxic bleach and perfumed detergents.

Be careful where in your cycle and how much you use because it can corrode parts of your washing machine. It's better to pre-soak in a basin or sink 1-6 hours, then wash clothes normally, or to add to final rinse.

No, but it CAN do damage to your pipes. Try Aem and Hammer Laundry booster with baking soda. Works beautifully!

I'm out of fabric softener, so I'm trying this. I added maybe a cup during the rinse cycle. The vinegar smell is overwhelming. I have a feeling I need to do a second rinse. Don't believe everything on the internet.

Wife gets annoyed at me but even she admits the clothes are softer and the washing machine smells far better since I switched to vinegar.

Great household tip.
