I think she accidentally said dairy milk. She meant to say he drinks soy or dairy-free milk. Notice in the earlier installment she accidentally says he was eating gluten and Dr. McDougall corrects her. I think she was nervous and they only have so much time, so she rushed and misspoke. She clearly meant to say he drinks soy or dairy-free milk.

Quite honestly, I was stunned when I got to the third segment, I felt that there was a disconnect.  Dr McDougall clearly talked about the almost allergic like, sensitivities that people have towards animal products and gluten grains, and the issues that occur such as Autism other illnesses.  I applaud the mom, for removing these products out her son's life, and going so far to remove other environmental products.  She talked about the amazing difference in her son within a matter of days, his diet is clear, he than attends a birthday party digests these foods again, has a melt down, now she's got to pull him out of it again.  She does an amazing job and does it again...However, what I don't get is how he was back at drinking milk, eating animal products, and she notes he still was having some issues, why introduce products again, when there was a quite serious sensitivity.

It would have been helpful if they had her son on the show.

I’ll try the plant-based diet with my kid. What have I got to lose?

my son was just diagnosed at 8. I had the doctor give him a blood test and he came back with "sensitivities" to gluten, casein and peanuts, as well as low iron and vitamin D. We started trying out some gluten free foods but haven't removed all gluten & casein.(we've only known for almost a week) it's not easy to make the change but I'm very hopeful.

We did this for months with our children with autism and it didn't help at all. Do you know why that might be?

Holy smokes, I worked at a camp for kids with autism, I wish I could run an experiment and see if I could get rid of their condition. Is it really that simple? It's sort of funny to imagine that they are all drugged.
