Going from a 400 to a panigale v2 is one hell of a drug

Maturity was the biggest reason I got a 300 to start and I was right. I used to drag knee around every corner with that thing and slam the throttle everywhere. Now I have a respect for the bike and what it’s capable of so I take things easier on my 600. If I had started with a 600 I would’ve crashed it immediately because i wasn’t mature enough to be responsible with the throttle

I'm 5'2. 160 LBS. I'm on a 2023 yamaha r3 phantom purple. No regrets. 320cc picks up speed good. Not too fast not too slow. I recommend.

Just bought my first bike at 23. It's a BMW G 310 GS, no regrets at all. I love that bike

At 41 I'd only owned fast cars always scared of bikes after seeing bad accidents. My bro in law took 3 day school got license and bought 1000 NINJA. He finally got me on it and i drove it around the block and was hooked immediately. He had zero experience with fast cars or mc and zero manual shifting. I have been looking at all bikes and found a 1000cc VTR and jumped on it. The power can be daunting but i forced myself to jump on and go first day started in 1rst, realized turning is not that simple it requires skill lol. Watched never ending tutorials. 2nd day everything clicked. Started shifting, turning properly, day 3 jumped on and just took off. Everyday I get better in leaps but i still fear it in the respect dept knowing i could really get hurt so I'm ok with big baby steps. Tomorrow morning I'm going to 3 day school to get license and at 42yrs old beginning my mc life. Can't believe how crazy i instantly became about bike life after just giving it a try

Started on a gsxr 750. Great starter, within budget, great weight/height and no experiance rider. 😅 Since then its been a z1k, Zh2, 1290R and a gsxs1k. Next will be a 1100 Factory. I wont look back.

Started on a Honda Rebel 300 this year at the age of 32. I just wasn't comfortable with a bigger or heavier bike. Bottom line get something you're comfortable with and don't listen to anyone saying you "need" to start on a certain bike.

A bartender at my job was selling a ninja z400. Main review I would hear about that bike was it’s pretty good for someone just starting out. I bought it a little over a week ago and it has been perfect since. Learned to ride comfortably and easily within that time and it’s already my daily driver. Perfect amount of bike to have fun and learn. I would 100% recommend a z400 as a first bike to anyone interested 👍 and put a Leo Vince exhaust on it

I can flick, counter steer, emergency brake, turn on a dime, and lean far into my corners because I didn’t listen to moto YouTubers and got a rebel 250 for $900 to learn on.
I even got a 1987 which was amazing to learn wrenching on my own bike.
Did I make a mistake? No. I got something I could ham fist and light enough to make me comfortable throwing the weight, and I wouldn’t care if it dropped… which never happened because I didn’t get a 600.
When I was ready for bigger, I bought bigger, and all the skills passed over.
Don’t listen to people who insult other bikes to come off as aggressive or confident- they have tunnel vision and are unconsciously gate keeping.

If it helps anyone with the confidence: my 36 year old 250cc was outpacing most of my friends on 600s… because I wasn’t afraid of my bike, and I wasn’t waddling to stops and dog paddling away from them.

Love this video! As most would say a 300 or a 600. I went in looking at the 636 and as much as I wanted that when I was in the dealership the new gen 6 zx10r just came out. I was hung up on the two choices but I left with the zx10. 4 years later I’m here with no regrets. Get the bike you want boys and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Only you know if you can be mature enough to respect the machine in between your legs. Cheers from Vegas! Adobo Nation

When it comes to getting a 1000 as ur first bike to learn on its very important you have the right people around you to not only teach you but to help you get use to the speed so you can go out there and find ur limits and enjoy ur 1000.

"The best first bike is the bike you won't regret having as your first bike."

Damn, kabayan! I so love that statement!

No matter what they say, as long as you're happy with what you have! God bless!

I'm on my first bike right now, a 2nd gen SV650S (restricted, EU things), but it's lovely. It's got plenty of torque to accelerate, but not enough top speed to incentivise dying in a high speed crash. For a bigger riding on a twisty road, it's honestly perfect.

Bought my first bike 6yrs ago . Kawasaki ZX-14. I couldn’t afford to “rise thru the ranks” so I bought what I like out the gate.
