(maria here) okay, so this will maybe prompt some eye rolling, BUT, i want to say jokes aside i actually wouldn't mind seeing a gender swapped Weird Science. only because unlike the Ghostbusters reboot (which is an unwanted reboot to start since the original is such a loved movie, and on top of that the new one just looks unfunny and poorly made) a Weird Science reboot might not be terrible because as much as i enjoy it, it's not a well put together movie, and it's not as loved as a movie like Ghostbusters. seeing some successful remakes/continuations in the past year that in some cases trumped the originals makes me think something like this could actually be good given a good cast/writer/director. in addition i think gender swapping can either be a terrible idea, or an improvement, ie Fury Road. that being said i love this because phones would definitely put john hughes out of work so fast in this day and age and its a very surreal concept. also dont know why this ended up being a philosophical mini essay i apologise
