My Tribute to John Hughes

This is my tribute to the man who captured the essence of the ‘80s: John Hughes. ❤️

“Many filmmakers portray teenagers as immoral and ignorant, with pursuits that are pretty base... But I haven’t found that to be the case. I listen to kids. I respect them... Some of them are as bright as any of the adults I’ve met.”

John Hughes was an American filmmaker, born in 1950, who wrote, produced, and directed some of the most memorable 80s coming-of-age films such as The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Sixteen Candles, and Pretty in Pink. His movies impacted an entire generation of teenagers. John Hughes perfectly captured what it felt like to be a teen during this period.

Wonderful tribute! I grew up mostly watching Home Alone and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. And while I've heard of John's films throughout the years when I was growing up. I had no idea how iconic they were. It wasn't until I watched Easy A with Emma Stone. And it had that 80s scene in it. She talks about wishing her life was like a John Hughes movie. Really inspired me to look further into his films. And I love so many of them. He's become my all time favorite filmmaker. And not to make this a race thing. While many of his characters in his films are white. As an African American, his films spoke to me. I hope he'll posthumously receive a Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame
