What If...? – TriStar / Carolco / Hughes (John Hughes' Bartholomew vs. Neff)

In the summer of 1990, it was announced that the late great writer-director John Hughes' next outing in the director's chair after Curly Sue would be a comedy about feuding neighbors entitled Bartholomew vs. Neff, with Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna's Carolco Pictures producing and Sony's TriStar Pictures distributing. Furthermore, set to star in the film were Sylvester Stallone and John Candy, with Stallone playing a former professional baseball player who lives next door to a corporate banker-type played by Candy, as the film chronicles their friendship and its eventual comical disintegration. Filming was scheduled to begin in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois in the summer of 1991, but Curly Sue's critical and commercial failure led Hughes to never direct ever again, and thus the project would ultimately go unproduced. Follow me and ponder the question, "What if...?"

Would be down to see this getting revived.

Give it to Edgar Wright and cast Idris Elba and Simon Pegg

IIRC, Carolco decided to make a Cliffhanger instead of this because of the failure of Stop or My Mom Will Shoot
