Never tip if it’s counter service. That’s absurd. There should be no expectation of tipping unless the food was carried to your table or delivered to your home.

service charge, delivery charge, taxes, and they STILL want a tip.

Bro tip jars have shown up at serve yourself retail stores where you do your own sh!t and they just ring you up at the register. I was a waiter. I get tipping. But it’s beyond reasonableness now and I’m going out everywhere less and less now.

I’m okay with not going to restaurants or Starbucks

I barely eat out anymore because I just cannot bother to tip on top of the obnoxiously high prices
I got a email from a warehouse online store that asked if I wanted to give a tip to the employee who packaged my stuff.

lmao 20%? That's literally double what a person tithes to God at church for someone doing a job no different than everyone else who doesn't get tipped.

An automatic tip will be asked to be removed. I will ask them to adjust the bill or I will do it with a pen and they will forfeit it any gratuity from me.

Honestly, if a restaurant can't pay their employees a decent wage, then they should shut down. Paying $100 for a meal and they can't pay the server 15 an hour? Screw that. The server has somewhere around 10 tables they tend so they are expecting us to tip them $150-300 an hour?

Pay your own employees and leave the rest to customers. It’s not our job to pay employees. Tips are those who go BEYOND what’s already expected. Customers walk in and patron the business, that’s tip enough. The employer needs to pay THEIR HELP. Period.

they reach over the counter and hand me my meal and STILL ask for a tip.

This prolly has a lot to with rising food costs and restaurants charging more 15$ for a cocktail no mames. 15$ for 12 wings he’ll naw. We need new leadership and lower property taxes

Here's a tip, learn and actual work skill to get a better paying job instead of hoping for high tips everytime you have to work. Waiters expect way too much money, and all they do is bring food and be nice.
Maybe learn and skill and move on. Waiter jobs technically isnt supposed to be a career.

the last place that has no tipping tab is the supermarket lol. Anywhere you go they ask for tips. Even if i want to get a 3 dollar black coffee and i'm only giving the choice to tip 1, 2, or 3

I recently got into a verbal fight with a Chinese restaurant owner. My wife and I walked in at lunch time and no one was eating inside the restaurant, we walked in and the owner and his wife didn't say anything so we sat ourselves down and then i said Hello and finally the china man comes gives us the menu we place our order he brought it but never again showed up and asked if we needed anything else. We had no more drinks, no water no anything i had to walk over to him to pay. When i paid he looked at the receipt and said in a loud tone " You not leave me a tip"? And I looked at him and said NO! Because you never came back to our table to asked if we needed anything else and he fucking lost it. He started to yell at me and cussing me got in my i peppered sprayed him and he wasn't doing any of that no more. 😂 He couldn't breathe and his ugly wife got a little bit of the spray mist too. That's what they get for thinking he could talk to someone like that and try to get in my face for not tipping. That's how crazy tipping has gotten.
