only” issue” i’ve had with it, is the battery life. but it was noted before it even released that it wasn’t going to be a long as the standard controller. and i mainly play at a desk with a monitor so when it does get low, i just plug it in. setting all the profiles was easy and switching between them for different games even easier. if you spend the day working with the stick deadzones and changing them to best work with your fps games of choice, it’s absolutely worth the $200 price tag imo

I bought one because my Dualsense was starting to drift so I needed to replace it anyway. I've been playing Dead Space with the Dualsense Edge and I really like the adjustable trigger stops in addition to the rear buttons. Also, I should mention that I frequently experience arthritic pain or something in my hands/fingers, so being able to customize and swap out all the controls provides me with actual physical comfort (e.g., repeatedly pressing in L3/R3 with my thumbs is painful). The battery life is a bummer but not a dealbreaker for me. For all these reasons, I think the Dualsense Edge was worth $200 to me. But I agree that I'd hesitate in recommending it to any/everybody. I think a person should buy it only if they have a clear reason/purpose. But for me an avid gamer I'm glad to have it.

Easily the best controller that I've ever used. The only thing that comes close is the first gen X-Box Elite controller (which also came with a carry case but did not have the option to easily replace the thumb sticks). Battery life isn't an issue for me as I usually play with the cord attached anyway, and as this comes with a locking feature for the cord attachment, I'm perfectly happy. You hit the nail on the head, this controller is great!

Got it day one. Many action games use dpad up to use heals or items and jump buttons on X. Moving these to rear paddles feels incredible and not having to go to the config screen every time makes this a must for MMOS, fighting games, action games, and shooters. the ability to reduce the distance necessary for triggers to press down is great for fighting games and shooters specifically.

Being able to change the stick curves and dead zones is honestly one of my favorite features even if i dont use it much. The reason I say that is because games on consoles dont have a set stick rate like pc games do. On pc you can look around and make it feel the same across all games, aside from the few that force accelleration. On console games can feel vastly different when aiming due to differing curves across games and with the curve options you can choose, you can help minimize the wonky feel of some games to improve your experience. Now if sony could add a sensitivity option somehow that would be fantastic for games like the Metro Redux collection where your sensitivity is so slow i wonder if my controller was dipped in syrup 😆

Well worth every penny for me. As he said, it feels like a $200 controller! I think the battery life is griped harder than it should be. I don't get to sit for 6-10 straight as is and the high quality braided cable is VERY long. I've not delved into the stick curves and dead zone yet, but I will although that was not a buying point for me. The remapping and the changing of analog sticks is what sold me. Stick drift is inevitable. Could be a month-could be a year. I love the idea of greatly extending the life of my controller with a change that maybe takes 30 seconds. This was long overdue.

It’s just one man’s opinion. Mine and many others opinions that I’ve talked to absolutely love it. $200 well spent for me.

I got one and absolutely love it. Those back buttons are the bomb man. After using them for a few hours I find it impossible to go back to a standard dualsense

I"ve had mine for a week and it's a game changer. The extra paddles on the back are the best feature. I haven't had the time yet to tinker with the stick adjustments, but I'm sure I'll get around to it. I leave mine wired and connected to the console since my gaming area is not in a well trafficked area in my house.

If you can’t afford the price or just don’t care enough about using a pro controller to justify paying $200+ it’s an easy decision don’t buy it. If you do want one though the dual sense edge does have a great build/feel compared to the Scuff FPS. I had to send my Scuff in after 5 months for repairs (R2 stopped clicking).

Honestly worth every penny ! i personally havent had an issue with battery life yet since ive always been good at putting it on the charger in between gaming, also i dont have the luxury of playing 6 hours straight anymore lol.

I’m definitely going to end up getting this. Bought a custom controller last year and hated it. Ive tried to use it about 3 times now and I just can’t get used to the feel of the back paddles on the back… but the fact you can change these to smaller ones is what I like the look of.

To be honest I don't think Sony are giving us gamers an option. I got a brand new just in stock, new batch playstation 5 and 8 days later on this very day im typing this the right analog became squeaky and stiff... yes 8 days later you heard it right. I never dropped it, banged it.. just normal play. No wonder they brought out this controller. Because why go through all the hassle to fix the issue with these controllers, when you can just make a pro level controller for 200 bucks and fix the issue that way.. smart Sony.. surely a lawsuit is permissible here because I'm not the only one. The year is 2023 and we still cant make controllers not get stick drift or in my case squeek and go stiff within 8 days.

I really hope that the thumbstick swap option will come to standard controllers in the next few years, its ridiculous that its such a common issue and still the solution is take it apart at your own risk (or pay for a "fix") or buy a new controller.

People need to be more happy about the innovation of changing the thumbsticks. This is a big problem in controller longevity and they just fixed it. I plug in my controller most of the time for the best response time anyway so I’m not concerned about the battery. This is an amazing controller.

I bought one and definitely don't regret it. The inevitable stick drift has caused me to go through 4 ps5 controllers already. At $75 a pop that adds up to over 200 really fast. It is well worth it in my opinion and the extra buttons have.
Helped my MW2 game out tremendously. I wouldn't wait until your Five controllers deep to buy one of these.

I'm waiting a little bit before I buy it. But, the reason I'm waiting is because of the _one_ feature it's missing, which would make it a guaranteed purchase. The thumbstick tension is too soft. I'm waiting for Evil Controllers to offer higher tension thumbstick modules for this, like they did with the Astro C40 controller.

More than any other feature, higher tension thumbsticks are the most important thing on a "pro" style controller. I know there's things like KontrolFreek precision rings, but I don't like them. They don't work as well as they claim. The added tension really only kicks in when there's only about 20% left on the stick's range of motion.

I got it and was a bit hesitant about the price. 1. Battery life is a letdown. 2. The case doesn't really appeal to me so could easily have done without it to cut the price down. 3. I don't really use the stick sensitivity much but I love the trigger sliders. 4. It's worth it as it's an official product and the build quality is amazing but they need to do something about the price to appeal to more gamers. 8/10
