You made me realize that I take way too much crap for camping... But we sure are comfortable... Thanks for sharing CrOcket20.

Great advice. I use to leave my backpack packed all the time in the back of my vehicle, which falls inline with your "core gear already packed." I need to spend some time re-achiving that kind of organization.

Great stuff Crocket. Having totes pre packed with standard equipment is perfect. Really limits the time it takes to gather the other stuff.

Great video! Through trial and (lots of!) error/lessons learned (and still/always learning) I figured out most of these on my own, but it is good to see these lessons learned presented in short video like this. 👍

Super true man....some people need a personal assistant to get organized no matter what.I guess it is upbringing...

I always do the list, well not always, now & then I have done a last minute unplanned trip & forgot half the stuff. Organization: closet, garage, shed, storage - as long as I set out everything I need the night before, it 'should' end up in the truck. Then all I need is gas & groceries.

I actually make spreadsheets of my packing list for different seasons. So that way I have a base idea what to take.  It differs depending on where I'm going too. Whether I'll be somewhere I can boil water and have plenty of easy access or if I'll be using a filter, same with food, but the majority of the bigger items will be the same. Also what pack were you using in this?

Too bad this will never help that one friend that regardless of what time you tell them, they are an hour late. Awesome info and edit!

My problem is I bring everything, things like a extra shotgun or the camp stove can be a little too much gear. But on the same note, your shotgun will work fine up until your 400 miles away from home (then it's going to break) and again it's so nice having a full sized camp stove to cook meals and coffee on. I could take the pocket rocket but it's not as good. IDK, , , , Stuff is such a bitch
