My moms old Honda Pilot had 212, 000 miles and still ran great.

It all depends on car you get. Toyotas use quality parts and can last to 200, 000 miles if oil changed regularly. GM and Ford trucks can last that long. Any luxury vehicle may be trouble long term because complex systems expensive to replace and second owner can’t afford it.

Exactly what I did for our 2009 Suburban LT 4x4. It had 156, 000 on it when we bought it in April 2019. I pulled the maintenance history on it from Carfax and the local dealer. Was well maintained except for the previous owner but all in all it needed tires, alignment, a couple sensors that the dealership didn't repair. Replaced all the fluids, rear diff, tranny fluid, oil, coolant flush ourselves. Only issue is rust with it being a northern vehicle. Otherwise she's pushing 198, 000 and no real issues so far. Has some oil consumption but that's not unusual for higher mileage vehicles. Replaced the passenger valve cover as a partial fix for that after some research.

I've owned over a dozen cars... only two of which had under 100k miles on them lol. I just bought a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan with 174k miles on it (for pretty cheap) & I freaking loveeee itttt!

My 2013 Infiniti JX35 has 143K. I keep to the maintenance schedule like clockwork. The only thing that breaks (last 3yrs) in the high heat is the ac. But the price of fixing that is about two car payments. I was shopping for a new vehicle and then the chip shortage. I’m not willing to pay 10K over MSRP. My car is running great and I can wait out the shortage. Will continue to watch your videos while I wait.

Great information! Can you talk about what year/mileage would you get if you are in the market to get a used car? Thanks!

The only issue with vehicles with high mileage is that be prepared to shell out some extra money to replace worn out parts. Reason I say this is because we had to replace the family car that my wife purchased brand new in 2004. (Started out with alternator, then 3 months later, replaced entire exhaust system.) We didn’t want to be on a road trip and then the car dies. And yes it had been serviced routinely.
(Over 180, 000 miles when we got rid of it).

Now with that being said, I currently own a 2000 dodge Dakota (currently 150, 500 miles) but will have to replace it as well (had to spend a good chunk of money just so it can pass inspection). I do know it won’t pass this year (rusting out).

Good info! I've got 106, 000 on my 2017 mazda cx 5. I love my car though never had a single light on the dash! All my oil changes and etc are done like clock work. I hope I can get another year out of her and I plan to upgrade to the cx 9 thanks to your review! 😊

My Subaru Outback has 100k on it and the only things I have ever replaced are lightbulbs and brakes (at 98k) and this car is driven on gravel roads and horrible temps (-60F) I have never had a single issue with it. Super happy with it, our daily driver.

My Subaru Story: Back in March 2012,
I reluctantly traded in my 2004 Mitsubishi Diamante and purchased my first Subaru. It's was a Silver Grey 2011 Outback that was fully loaded with 34, 600 miles on it. I would use this car to commute DAILY from Southampton Long Island, NY to Staten Island New York. (200 miles a day) I was constantly on the road, in the rain (Crusing at 65 mph) and it snow (40 mph with the proper tires); at night and in the daytime; driving at all times, in any type of weather, under all conditions. The day came in 2016 when I had to trade it in. It had 260, 000 miles on the odometer. (Incidentally this car ended up on a used car lot in Staten Island New York and within 8 days of the being there someone brought that car with 260, 000 miles on it.)
My 2016 Subaru Outback just broke 200, 000 miles.
I just wish that Subaru would give us an option without the Continuously Variable Transmission

I have a 2011 Toyota Camry with 140, 000 miles on it and have owned it for almost three years and no problems with it at all . By the way, it's not just a lot of people driving higher mileage vehicles for their own transportation, but because of the chip shortage causing new vehicle shortages, the rental car company that I work for has not been purchasing anywhere near as many new cars for the fleet . So they have had to keep the ones that are already in the fleet longer, not pulling them out of the fleet and selling them until 60, 000 or more miles .

My first car was a 98 Mazda protege. 103k miles after 7 years and the AC died. Decided to upgrade and bought a 2005 Prius. That baby was still going strong with NO major repair after 13 years and 192k miles. I didn’t want to get rid of it but I could pass on a crazy deal on a new plug-in Prius. Wanted to see how far I could go with that 2005.

My Mazda CX-9 has 170 thousand miles on it, it’s 11.5 years old . . . The maintenance has been affordable no major problems . . . I’ve been watching your channel because I’ve been thinking I’m gonna need a new car soon . . . Maybe I don’t need to, maybe I just need to be sure to take it in for servicing? I have 4 boys, my oldest is a teenager taller than my husband and I. I need a video where someone puts 6 adults in or 4 adults and 2 car seats because my younger 2 are still in forward facing car seats. My CX-9 is shrinking and I want the most fuel efficient compact safe reliable vehicle that will fit teenage boys and their siblings . . . I thought about the wagoneer but it only gets 13 miles to the gallon! Thought about an aviator but I don’t think it gets me enough room in the third row? Ideas? Can you find a big mixed age family to make a video with? ❤️ Thank you, your reviews are the best.

Question, I had a 2018 Qx60 for 2 yrs from a Benz R350 of 8 yrs, wasn't impressed, but my husband and I have 5 kiddos. We traded up to a Qx80 in December, but the gas is horrific. I want to go back to Benz and get a GLS 450, but it has 82, 000 miles on it. Should I keep what I have or trade out. I like Benz, but Infiniti is okay too, like luxury.

I'm going on 165, 000 on my 05 MDX. She still runs great, but she eats fuel. Maybe 15 city and 22 highway.
