How I Grow Sprouts at Home in Mason Jars

Have you ever wanted to grow your own salad sprouts? There are many ways to go about it, but I’ve found that growing them in mason jars is simple and fun. Question: Do I really need special sprouting seeds, or can I use any old seed to sprout?
My Opinion: Some foods you find in the store are irratiated to prevent sprouting. If you buy say, lentils, from the store in hopes of sprouting them it may work but it may not depending on how the food was treated before it came to you. Sprouting seeds are specifically made for sprouting, so there isn’t anything on the seeds to prevent them from doing just that, sprouting!

Yay, I love sprouting! I’m creating a nice spicy mix…but I always have trouble with the broccoli sprouts! I’ve never managed sunflower micro greens either, but it’s on my list to get down lol

was that 3 TBS of seeds you put in the jar? And what do you mean by draining and rinsing every 12 hours? I only saw you pour the water out. Do you mean you then add more water and pour it out again in 12 hours? How do you add more water - do you remove the lid and fill the jar with water directly, or do you pour water in through the slats of the lid? Sorry, newbies like me need clear, step-by-step instructions:) thanks!
