Thanks for the update. Slight relief. FR also reported on backlog of SC887 visa on 21 June 2022. Over 18, 000 highly skilled workers who came to Australia on temporary residance are held back for more then 18 months. Most of them are waiting for 19 to 21 months and fewer of them are waiting for over 25 months. We hope, SC887 backlog would be into consideration for clearing. These skilled immigrants on either Briging Visas or at the edge of 489 visa expiry are unable to sustain their jobs. New, better opportunities pass by them but despite skill shortage, employer does not consider them due to BVA and or 489 visa!. They can not buy house, banks does not offer them loans, their grown up children can't go to Uni as they have to pay international student fees and considered foreigners. Please raise voice for clearing backlog of SC 887 Visa. They are those who choose not to leave Australia in Covid Pandemic, they continued supporting Australian Economy, they faced hardship without Govt support. Atleast, they deserve SC 887 visa grant now which is simplest visa application.

Can only talk for myself; I’m happy for the long processing times (408, covid). Gives me more time to stay and work in this beautiful country.

This is sigh of relief that Labor atleast address this issue. Been waiting for more than 19 months too much anxiety and tension got me diabetic and stressed.

Hi Karl
Thanks for this informative video as always. As per this decision of clearing backlogs and fast tracking visa applications, approx how long it will take to process offshore 491 visa (Non-PMSOL)? Any timeframe we have?

Thank you for the update. When so you think they’ll update the processing times? And how long will it be for 476?

Thanks for the info. I hope new applicants are attended to as prompt. I applied for dependent visa to meet my husband on subclass 500 since April 2022. I hope I don’t have to wait so long cos it’s becoming unbearable. What’s your take on this Karl?

Is there a demand for mining expertise in Australia? South Africa and Australia share similarities regarding mineral resources especially coal and iron ore. I'm just wondering what is the realistic time frame for a working visa to be granted.

Thank you for the informative short video's Konrad👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

@ Karl Konrad - This is a great news for all those applicants who have been waiting for ever to get their visas granted.
Wanted to know if South Australia will be open for offshore Analyst Programmer (IT Professionals) category this July?
