Excel PivotTable - Using XLOOKUP Function to Group Text

The XLOOKUP function is one of my favorite functions in Microsoft Excel. We will use the XLOOKUP to group text for our PivotTable. The other day I made a video showing how to group text directly inside the PivotTable, but today we're going to use XLOOKUP to add the text to our data and then create the PivotTable. I'll also cover why I prefer XLOOKUP to VLOOKUP.

Chapters:

0:35 XLOOKUP
1:24 XLOOKUP vs. VLOOKUP
4:13 Calculated Column in a Table
5:50 PivotTable

Good stuff Chris. I love XLookUp! I rarely use VLookUp anymore.

Nice video, I too love xlookup for this kind of problem, though I find I default to using index and match then think that it would have been far better and easier to read had I thought to use xlookup! Guess old habits die hard.

Big user too, however I notice you don't click on the column instead of using range of values. This saves having to use F4 on the range.
Really enjoy your excel videos...
