Brilliant tutorial. I have been told for years by various people how good Pivot Tables are, but every time I asked for a demo or training session nothing happened. Okay, I’ve got to hand it to you: this is good stuff. One of my biggest pet peeves is people using a spreadsheet as a database, and that’s still a really bad idea; but this feature is actually a pretty good argument for why someone might want to export data to Excel. There’s nothing here that a real database-driven application couldn’t do, but the fact that the average user can do it on the fly is pretty dang impressive.

Great video, as always. One thing to consider is that copying one pivot table to make another one means you will be using the same pivot cash, just like you said, which also means you will keep your file considerably smaller if you have a big data set.
