On Leaving Your Hometown

Moving out is weird and hard and complicated. But moving away was the best decision I ever made. This video is a Lil personal but it's something I feel passionate about.

Girl I just moved from Puerto Rico to the United States! It has been a dream of mine to do that since i was a little girl but it doesn't make it any easier. I miss my family so much :(

I think one of the reasons why people stay where they are is because governments and social programs (at least here in the states) reward to complement those who have been residents for quite some time. For us here in the states, the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition is THOUSANDS of dollars compared to the thousands you aleady have to pay for in-state. So in-state you might have to pay $12, 000 a year, but out-of-state you pay $24, 000 a year. That's because financial aid, grants, and scholarships are resevered for those who have grown up there. Therefore, it makes sense to go to a state school. The best you can do is go to a school miles and miles from home that still keeps you qualified.

The way people get things in the US is by being in allegience to certain places and things, for our continued loyalty to staying put.

Like I would want to stay with people who despise me, believe I'm to much, feel inferior next to me because they have to admit that I'm better and not just better...I make them feel small....how does it feel?...it feels like shit doesn't it....yeah that's what I had to deal with but I made myself magnificent
