The best way to memorize this is to think in music when the tonal mark is ā áǎà the note in the first one stays constant the second one the note slides up, third one slides down and up quickly and the fourth one slides down

I got them all right at the end! I know 0 Chinese but this lesson made it simple to understand. If I don't do the 4th tone strong enough, it sounds like I do the 1st tone, and I feel like native speakers also don't always pay attention to clarifying the 1st tone and 4th tone because I hear almost nothing different when they speak.

I'm so happy I found your videos! I have been wondering about the "length" of the tones for a while now. Thank you for clarifying that! Also, I always have a problem with the way I sound when I do the 4th tone. My voice doesn't sound as strong and my pitch doesn't actually sound like it's dropping to the bottom of my vocal range. Is that a problem?
