I don’t think it’s common knowledge or practice. But I’ve had multiple trainers suggest to me to keep cheat days and rest days separate. I’m not always successful at doing that, but I generally lose less momentum when I do.

And if I go too HAM on my food cheat day, my next workout comes quickly and is utter trash. Then I’m less likely to eat ALL available yum-yums in 24 hours.

Same! I noticed the same thing! So my cheat days are days when I work out! Rest days and make sure that I eat healthy and clean

It's always nice to see someone talking about healthy relationships with food. I'm still sorting mine out, even in my 30s. But it's a race, not a sprint. And good therapists are fucking worth their weight in gold

Resistance training sensitises muscle tissue to nutrient partitioning meaning that post workout your body sends more nutrients to the worked muscles. Having cheat day after leg day is common in bodybuilding circles for this reason. It makes sense to place your biggest caloric intake immediately following the workout that stimulates your largest muscles as this is only going to aid recovery.

Rest day is important and you comprising the quality of rest your getting by binging like that the body switches focus to digestion that being said you still should eat all the protein you can on rest days

Mixing some apple cider vinegar with water.
helps with glucose levels after a bunch of candy too. And it helps eating candy after a meal so that there isn't as much of a spike.

This is why I’m nervous for my cheat days. I don’t know how to recover the next day. And the cheat day is literally eating everything I can get my hands. Gummy bears and nachos for breakfast. I sicken myself. This is a good tip though
