What causes muscle fatigue, muscle tiredness and muscle weakness after a work out? Why do our muscles get fatigued, tired, weak, sore, burn and hurt after exercise? What causes our muscles to fatigue to the point where there is a physiological inability to contract, and why does it take time to recover from muscle fatigue?

Our Muscles get weak, tired and fatigued after use, but the reason for this is unclear. This video gives the reasons and three main hypotheses as to why we get muscle weakness and fatigue after use / workout / exercise, and explains the underlying physiology. This includes the impacts on Excitation-Contraction Coupling, Lactic Acid and wastes, the biochemistry, and energy causes. A better understanding of why our muscles get tired after a workout or exercise can also help you understand what's required in order to obtain an effective recovery.

I was under the impression that muscle fatigue isn't just general soreness/muscle exhaustion, but where the muscle has been pushed too far and will take longer than usual to heal and will return back to normal

I got back in the gym after quite some time around 4/5 months of being inactive and I worked out on chest today. When I was benching pressing my body was literally shaking. My arms and the bar were shaking when I was bringing the weight up and down. Not sure why maybe because I’ve haven’t been as active as I once was....

Muscle is piezo electric.. It takes electrical energy to work them, and oxygen to maintain motochondria function. Also, mitochondrea get damaged overtime and need to be replaced..look into mitochondrial biogenesis for more info.

What about blood circulation ? I had tremor in left hand, tired legs almost crumps can't run anymore, and veines and nervesnalways visible on hands and feet

it has been several days since my last intense workout after living the couch life for a couple of years....i cant even do a single push up properly right now lol...during the intense workout a few days ago, i did probably around 100 or maybe more in total with rests in between and some other exercise leaving my whole body sore...i guess my muscle is just that shocked and left in fatique state..so it refuses to contract like he said in the video....i'm still sore from that workout...so i just do light stretching for these past few days cuz i cant muster much strength to lift even my own weight...hopefully this wont take long cuz i might need to prepare for fitness test in the following months....i need to go back to at least half of what i was in the past or i'm screwed.

I've been feeling this lately. Today was leg day and I had the lower the sets i was doing by 40 pounds. I just woke up from a nap out of nowhere and feel a bit sore. my arms also feel a bit heavy too. I have a week were i don't touch a weight and do only bodyweight and conditioning.

at 58 years of age..the gym hurts me..too much ache that lasts days..I believe at 58 I should not work out like a 28 year old..ive just been reducing sets to one set only..at lower weights..

I been doing instense bicep curls and mine was so sore to the point my arm couldn't extend for best if three days and it recover I don't feel no inflammation or any pain but I can't lift as much as I use to. What happend?
