When I was in culinary school they showed us a trick for prebaking pie crusts. Put a second pie pan on top of the crust and flip the whole thing over and bake it upside down. Not only does it help to prevent bubbles, it can help keep the sides from potentially sliding down.

I made this pumpkin pie for thanksgiving (roasted my own pumpkins and used fresh ground nutmeg& secret ingredient vanilla bourbon paste) with a rum whipped cream recipe I got online as well and it was AMAZING. Also, the pie crust by I put in the freezer and defrosted some yesterday (March) and it still tasted JUST as good! So amazing!!!

I'm only 11 but I have made this recipe 2 times! It's the most delicious dessert I have ever made, and I bake every day, I am making it again today for a holiday party!!! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS And if you use it, then make homemade pie dough, so delicious :) Thank you,

John, I made this pie and the filling came out very silky and smooth! At first I was worried the filling didn’t bake long enough bc it was so silky. I love the method of warming the pie filling as I never have never done this before. But it really turned out great and it melts in your mouth! Thanks

I just took this out of the oven and it smells amazing! I live down the street from a pumpkin patch so I made my own puree. I'm having a baby next week and I've been making and freezing meals for November, and wanted to make a pie for Thanksgiving! Now I think we may end up eating this one before I stick it in the freezer... good thing I have extra ingredients!

Many of us Brits don't get the fascination with pumpkin in a dessert, but I do & I haven't had pumpkin pie since I visited my relatives in NJ nearly 20 years ago. This made my mouth water SO much and brought back such great memories. I will be making this in the next couple of days, once my order for pumpkin puree arrives.

I love all of your tips! But watching the way you shape the foil to protect the pie crust when baking was my favorite! I have always cut little strips of foil lengthwise and tried to piece them around the edge of the pie, and they always fall off! It never dawned on me to use a great big long piece of foil and shape it to fit around the pie. Amazing! I just baked the pie and the foil worked perfectly. This is a forever tip for me!

The only bad thing about this pie is you just cant have enough. And it made my life harder by adding some extra workout.
But its worth it EVERY SINGLE PIECE 😋
