I agree with everything you said here. I went the cheap route and ended up buying 3 different belts instead of the one.

I had a nylon belt for over 20 years. I just purchased a new one becayse Velcro wore out. I prefer nylon because it's lighter, fit better in a gym bag, it's usually more comfortable to wear, and half the price of leather. You actually don't want a belt for a life time. Things improve over a time. You want to get a belt with better design and feature.

Personally I think people should never buy a built because of back pain or to prevent back pain. That is just a crutch for bad form. Belts are very important but they should be used for bracing your abs and making your mid section tight so you can lift more weight.

Checking in. If you are seriously going to get into weight lifting then buy the best for your body. After all, you can't lift weights if your body isn't functioning properly.

I have like a hybrid between the two. It is a leather belt, but it's far thinner than the typical leather belts and thus far cheaper. I know it's not the best, but it suits my needs. Like you, my one rep max lifting days are over.

Hey! I'm not a power lifter but I feel like I need a belt when I do RDL's and the hack squat because I go heavy on those compound movements for 3 sets of 6-8. What type of belt is best for me?

I work at a mail sort facility and my back hurts pretty bad at the end of the week. I move 50-60 pound bags from one cart into another about 15-30 times per destination. I am wondering if a belt will help me and should I be looking for a particular kind. I have my eye on a gym reaper quick lock belt at the moment. I am in a very Humid hot open air warehouse so I think leather might be a bad idea.

I'm curious if the nylon belt like the element 26 will provide enough support for heavier weights? I no longer squat or dead lift but I do fairly heavy machine squats, rack pulls, stiff legged deads, etc.
Curious if the nylon offers enough heavy weight support. I'm a long time bodybuilder... since age 17.
I'm now 52. Thanks!
Thanks!!!
