Why do some develop phobias while others don't?

So, I'm diagnosed with general anxiety disorder and social anxiety. I do not have phobias, and the one I had, I beat on my own. (Because it's really inconvenient to be fainting-level afraid of spiders when you live in the woods.)
So, my question is, of I am prone to having heightened levels of fear toward things, why don't I exhibit more fears. I watch paranormal things to fall asleep, I had clowns (from the 1970s) decorating my bedroom for 10 years as a child, I had the CREEPIEST dolls, but I don't fear any of those things. In fact, I'm known for being pretty brave. (I sing and act, as well.)
Just curious how I don't have any phobias, and I'm 45 years old. ('Cause your logic checks out, but it doesn't bear out for me. I know. Outliers. :p lol)
