"He has some history of violence..." That's it. You can stop right there. Women: IF your date/love interest/significant other/roommate has a "history of violence" get the F out of there. Get out. You won't even need pepper spray or a gun or anything. Just go.

Reminder: If you feel like your life is under threat when you TRY to leave, it IS under threat every single second that you stay. Staying is NOT safer. If you leave then you can at least prepare. In other words: You become AWARE of the threat. Awareness buys you time. Time buys you options. Leave, create space, take actions to protect yourself.

If you stay THE THREAT IS STILL COMING. You just have no way to know when and you are close to the danger with limited options!

Appreciate John Correia's understanding of all the issues surrounding mental illness. The woman in this clip is lucky and also NOT TO BLAME. The assailant was also literally out of his mind. I am glad the woman is safe and he is in jail and can hopefully get help.
