When I read through Exodus regarding Moses and Pharaoh, I viewed God's punishment on a prideful and arrogant ruler resulting(not causing) a hardening of his heart. This would be like my child after discipline, choosing to stay angry and defiant, to my will. Pharaoh had a choice....and he chose rebellion. Even after relenting the last time after the death of his son...in anger....went back on his word and we saw how that ended.

Leighton, thanks for emphasizing context. In my preaching and teaching, I continually pushed the importance of context. After I retired from pastoring, I started a YouTube channel. I named it "Thinking Contextually and Exegetically Through Scripture". We can't emphasize it enough: context is king! Thanks again for your ministry.

Start form the beginning. Calvin was an unrepentant Murderer of Michael Servatius. Before he died Calvin said his only regret was not using wet wood so Servatius could have suffered longer. To think an evil person like this could interpret scripture correctly is ludicrous.

Discussing scripture with Calvinists is honestly so challenging. They are constantly appealing to mystery on issues that have been clearly revealed in scripture and it's as if they are so blinded by their Calvinist presuppositions, by the time they get to the Word, they can't even read it anymore. They drag their doctrines into scripture and try to force every passage to show Calvinism when the Bible just doesn't.
