My mom always says she "never cleans alone" :) Always somebody with her, it's more fun that way.

I admire you so much, Anna! As a mom, as a home educator, but also just as a person. You're amazing 💜

I have a degenerative back issue which has flare ups on top of the normal issues and pain which has slowed me down greatly. Everything you said hit the nail on the head for me! I get so frustrated that I can’t do what I used to do but I have to remind myself that I am still capable of so much. It just looks different now. What you said was SUCH a good reminder to me.

I would like to add one more “tip”!
The days you’re extra tired is not a good day to browse social media & see how “put together” everyone’s spaces are. Read or watch anything else! 😉

Thanks so much for this video. Today’s the day I’m tackling the mess I’ve been ignoring. 5 years ago I lost my husband of 20 years to cancer when he was 46. We have two grown children and two littles who are full time here at home with me. The past 5 years feels like we, my kids and I, have all changed since losing their daddy. It’s felt like I’ve had to relearn how to live and live without him being here. My girls have been my reason to keep pressing on as well as my faith but I know I’ve basically just existed. March 4 was the 5th anniversary of his passing and since then it seems to have really hit me to get my rear up and get things cleaned properly because I have been blessed with my body to be able to. Plus we all know how much better we fill when we aren’t staring at stuff just scattered everywhere. Thank you again and I’m ready to get things done! Finally!😊🙏❤️❤️

This is the first time I've watched your videos. I live with 3 autoimmune diseases and 2 chronic immune diseases. Fatigue is a huge part of my life. In addition, I help my 82 yr. old mom with things like grocery shopping and all of her appointments. I've been on a quest to declutter the past few months. I've also organized cabinets and my refrigerator using inexpensive containers. Setting a timer to work for 10-15 minutes helps keep me focused and doesn't wear me out. On days when I'm dealing with a complete loss of energy, I give myself time to rest, if possible.

I am 1.5 years into being disabled by long COVID. I used to deal with cleaning in multi-hour cleaning marathons. It taken a year after 6 months of just non-functioning to get to a place where things are more manageable. The biggest challenge was the mental shift. Working on a habit of putting things away as I finish with them. The 2nd wave was decluttering. This is huge because after literal garbage, laundry and dishes it takes Mental effort to know where everything goes and getting rid of stuff has an emotional component. Should it go in the garbage? Be a gift? Be donated? All decisions take Mental energy. Making the decisions gets easier with practice. But as with all things getting started is the hardest and momentum carries you after you begin. I have learned to see decluttering as something that also needs to be a daily habit.
Turns out when you no longer have "too much" stuff re:more than you can easily manage surfaces stay clear longer and wiping down clear surfaces takes minimal energy.
It is a really long time commitment if you can only spare 5 minutes of energy a day. But it is entirely worth it.

When I am overwhelmed and tired, I set a timer for 15 minutes and get as much as I can accomplished.

Decluttering my house has been one of the most helpful things that I have done. It’s just so much more manageable with less stuff. I’ve also taken some shortcuts in laundry like not folding rags or kid’s underwear and handing off my teen’s laundry to them. Minimized wardrobes have helped too.

I have an auto immune disease too and everything you said resonates so much. Just today I was talking to my husband about this. It's comforting to know I'm not alone in this. Oh, and yes....the dreaded brain fog is real! Something I've started that is helping is picking one day for specific tasks, like laundry, kitchen day....and so on.

We have a chore chart and break it up between the whole family throughout the week. There's no way I can keep up with all of it on my own!

I do what I call “commercial cleaning”. During every TV show on a cleaning day, I get up & work hard doing a task for the 4 minutes of commercials are done. Other times I set an alarm to clean for 10 min & then take 15 min off & repeat. I’m blessed to have a very involved husband that picks up the slack when it’s a rough time for me. My favorite book for helping to keep your house clean without large cleaning jobs. The book is sink reflections by the Flylady. Excellent!

I am nearing the last few weeks of pregnancy, and my belly is sore from stretching and I want a clean house because the nesting feeling is kicking in and and and. Haha! My kiddos are a big help--I've been spending the last half year doing some serious home training in prep for new baby season, and it is paying off in dividends now. I can clean for 15 minutes but then I start losing steam. My kiddos have really picked up the slack and it's been a great blessing. Loved these extra tips and it's so comforting to know we're not alone! ❤️❤️💪
