Great commercial, lousy instructions. Your catalogue says what to buy and then says modifications will be needed and there are no instructions. $350 and no instructions. Great!

Hello, which fuel tank is better: Aluminum or sheet metal?

How do you get the breather tube to stop pouring gas when you fill it up?

Bad Idea. The fuel tank inside the cab is the BEST location for it, not likely to be damaged in an accident. The worst places for a fuel tank are: 1) Mounted on the front bumper. 2) Mounted near the rear of the truck behind the axle. 3) Mounted outside the frame rails (like the 73-83 Chevy's) 4) mounted inside the frame rails under the truck, near the driveshaft and also likely to be impacted by road debris or rocks.
Need to get the car companies to again mount the fuel tank inside the cab, in a protected place such as under the seat, like the 30's and 40's Or behind the seat, like the 50s and 60's. ALL those 73 - 83 chevy's should be recalled and/or the current owners GIVEN a brand new $50, 000 truck to replace these aging firebombs. All 70's el Caminos which had the fuel tank located just ahead of the rear bumper also should be recalled and replaced with a current El Camino with a better design (Which means GM better start cranking out free 2016 El Caminos to be given away for free.) If I recall there were the Ford versions of the same car with the same problem, and Ford needs also to build new ones and give them away for free to the current owners of their version of the Ute. I don't care if it's been 50 years, these manufacturers need to replace these vehicles, as they're unsafe. If that drives Ford and GM out of business, I don't care. They are not American companies like Toyota and Kia and others that actually build their cars in the USA.
As to the Ford Pinto's gas tank location, that also was legendary: behind the rear axle under the car.
As to a fuel smell: don't over fill the tank, and make sure all seals are correctly installed and you will NOT get this. Freeing up space that's not easily accessible? Dumb.
