The difference between the Les Paul Studio and the others is minimal, and all of them can be dialled in to sound the same on any amp produced in the last 20 years. Personally, I'd go with the Modern not bc of the sound but bc it has an ebony fingerboard, its neck profile and contoured heal. Its playability is the best you can play longer and more consistently.

With a touch of eq they'd sound exactly the same

When you factor in cost which is a massive part of it. STUDIO.

The only difference I heard was on the clean sound of std '50s. Other guitars sound pretty much the same on clean. And all four sound the same distorted.

Sorry everyone but EQ isn't the same as pickup clarity. You'll never be able to dial that in.

I really didn't hear much difference. I have a cheap chinese Epiphone SG that I got for $50. I would put it against any of these. Sound is the same. Not enough difference to matter. I actually have a chinese Lse Paul "Signature" (Student model) that I also think sounds just as good, and it was only $75.

The difference between them is not obvious😅

They all sound dreadful. The bottom line is there are guitars better suited to this style. A Gretsch. A Casino. An Ibanez artcore and many more.

That modern is one of the ugliest Les Paul’s I’ve ever seen
