My friend and I are visiting London from Toronto and came to Guildford today to visit the store. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the store terrific. It was definitely worth the trip!

Love the Black, but I like the studio without the neck binding - and $1600 is crazy - anyone else feel that way?

Bought a brand Les Paul traditional for that price back in 2017. Fortunately there’s quite a few brands out there now making gig worthy/Professional instruments under the 1500/2000 mark. Yamaha, Reverend, Schecter, PRS come to mind

I think my Studio from 2016 was £600-£800 brand new.

These prices are insane.

It's worth mentioning that there's a difference between coil splitting and coil tapping. Coil splitting actually splits the humbucker and uses just one of the coils, giving a single-coil sound. Coil TAPPING still uses both coils, but only uses half the winds. It does NOT give a single-coil sound.

I gotta say it’s going to be tough to be a guitar retailer in the years to come. Guitars were ‘reasonably’ priced before Covid. But ever since they’ve gone a bit wrong. Generally for understandable reasons. However the consumer is not richer and we all remember what these guitars cost only 3-5 years ago. It’s a tough sell!!! This statement isn’t limited to Gibson, I genuinely do wonder what the guitar market will do over the next few years and how retailers will cope with the price hikes as I can’t imagine customers will happily pay these prices knowing the lower pricing only a few years ago?

That intro jam was the best I’ve ever heard from Pete. That was good stuff.

I was so sure I’d like the Blueberry Burst the best but that wine finish is beautiful.

In 2019 I was in a shop trying to decide between a 2019 Les Paul Classic and a 2008 Les Paul Standard. They both went for 1600€. Good times.

Went for the Standard if you care.
The 2008 models are beautiful and have modern specs such as locking tuners and a protection mechanism that prevents your jack from being unplugged if you step on it.

To me the lack of binding on the Studios always looked wrong, and yet a Studio is the only Les Paul I own...

I have the blueberry burst. Mine arrived with a poker chip. I purchased a Gator hard case to go with my Les Paul for times I don't want to use the gigbag. I love this model, Les Paul. The variety of tones with the push pulls adds to the fun. I did purchase a leather strap with some padding. Overall, I love this model. I love the sound of this model and the price.

I think it would be cool if they would tape over the edge of the top before applying the colour coat to reveal the bare maple in place of the binding. Of course it would add a bit to the cost but would be a real step forward in terms of look without having to do real binding work. Could even be done by a machine if the production numbers are high enough.

My 1983 Les Paul Studio is still going strong as the day I purchased it back then. Love it.

Studios have their own vibe, I think they look great without binding, especially the black, and from the previous run, smokehouse burst and Wine

I got two Revstar standards for the price of one of these. Pretty happy with my purchases -- although the finishes on these look great, especially the blue burst.

Love the simplicity of the Studio, i'm glad to see it's back. Now i just have to choose between the red or the black one! 😃

I can't wait for the the average salary to double/triple to follow the inflation so I can buy a Les Paul Studio. It's about to happen, right?

...right?

My Les Paul studio in 1999 was $1300 CAD. I’ve thought about buying a new Les Paul for years but the price has turned me away every single time. Their prices are absolutely ridiculous.
