This is a simple recipe for Old Fashioned Crispy Fried Chicken Wings. The brine gives these wings SO much flavor and makes tender, juicy wings that are perfect comfort food. Don’t skip out on the brining, even though it takes at least 4 hours. I use a blend of different seasonings, both in the flour coating and underneath it. I always like to fry my chicken in my cast iron skillet. Happy cooking!

0:31 - Rinse the chicken under cool water.
0:45 - For the brine, add cold water to a cup.
0:48 - Sprinkle in salt.
0:52 - Sprinkle in sugar.
0:58 - Stir well.
1:05 - Add the chicken to a container.
1:12 - Pour the brine over the chicken.
1:25 - Cover and refrigerate.
1:35 - Drain the brine.
1:37 - Season the chicken.
2:03 - Toss to coat.
2:10 - Add flour to a bowl.
2:18 - Add cornstarch.
2:24 - Add salt.
2:28 - Whisk to combine.
2:35 - Pour the seasoned flour into a plastic bag.
2:43 - Add the chicken to the bag.
2:54 - Shake to coat well.
3:02 - Remove the chicken and shake off excess flour.
3:10 - Add oil to a pan and heat.
3:17 - Add the chicken to the hot oil.
3:30 - Flip to cook evenly.
3:53 - Remove the chicken when golden brown and cooked through.
4:02 - Place on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
